Lighting gels are like coloured plastic sheets which are commonly used to change light colours for performances, for like DJ's and stuff. Best way to keep the light consistant is to not scratch off the back of the faces!!!! That is the part that evens out all the light. I can see my needles at night, not sure about others?

yeah my needles are still sweet!!

I went to Osmonds electronics (SA) and got my lighting gel because the local derringers(SA) store had nothing. It cost me $11.50 bceause you have to buy a minimum size sheet it 200cm x 30cm. I took the globe condoms off now(didnt need them anymore) and its a treat. Anyone want to buy some blue lighting gel. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Could you replace the globes with LED lights?

Possibly. IF you can get them to fit into the same base as the globes, or wire them up correctly and seal the hole up.

You will need to scratc off the white numbers on the front of the ficluster faces. then put some lighting gel behind them, i tried condoms but its much better with lighing gel. BTW: I have Blue and Aqua Lighing gels for sale anyone interested??

What is wrong with the green lol. So retro i love it. My Boost gauge came with a green cover to go over light so matches dash perfectly. My opinion anyway but i would not be changing colours.

if you only sand the back off, and leave the front in that white, so its not seethrought it will be an even colour, its opaque so an even amout of light gets through it all...

I've gone with a different method for mine.... Removed dash, Mounted a few LED's where required and run them through a 7805 .... Converts 12v to 5v... and a small resistor just to bring it down a little more.... This way if you want, You can mount Red/ Yellow/Green leds side by side and have a switch to swap colour of your Dash lights.... LED's are very effective if you mount them in the right spots and are "very" bright.... Thats why they use them for Head/Tails lights and traffic lights now. With Tail/Head/Traffic lights, If one led blows... u see a small dark dot .... If anyone wants any info about this, Feel free to send me an email
