YEh i looked at singles thermos but they looked pov compared to the nice looking AUs so i ended up fitting them instead. How did you hook them up i havent hooked them up yet? so could someone tell me how they hooked them up? Cheers Damo!!!

Hook one of them up using a thermostat sensor that automatically switches the fan on when the engine get to a certain temperature. Then connect the other one to turn on when you turn on your AC so it acts as a condensor fan and also to help cool the engine more as the condensor will be making the incoming air warmer. If you dont have ac then you can just connect both of the fans on a thermostat controller. You can buy these thermostat sensors from supercheap or autobarn or any car parts retailer. Davies craig make em too.

what if you want to have them both connected to the thermo and still have them come on if the ac is turned on ?

just have em set at the same time via a thermo switch. much easier as they arent staged.

Davies craig single 16" fan flows 2300cfm, not 1000, but its still 30% down on the twin AU's. The other factor is that you need a shroud whn any surface isn't covered by the fan, so if you se a single 16", you'd have to make a shroud all the way around it covering the rest of the core, whereas the au ones are all built in and already shrouded. I've always thought that thermo's didn't work as well as the factory engine fan, despite the hp loss, I've seen most cars with them getting hot, but that may have far more to do with the setup than the fan. Has anyone got any first hand experience with engine/coolant temps being better on a VLT or V* after switching from engine fan to AU or VT? As I would prefer thermo's, but am more interested insuring the best possible cooling, not looks. 6BOOST

mmmm bugger im probly going to attempt my install this weekend. how big trany cooler did u get ? surely ud be able to cut or drill sum holes for the trans pipes?

i dont get it, whats this thing about the trans pipes? has n e 1 else had this prob? i've heard about people doing this mod on autos, neva sed a thing about a tranny cooler

were the trans pipes go into the radiator one of the thermos sit ontop about half an inch away from the inlet pipe so they wont fit thats with the standerd fittings but i gess if u got some 90 degree fittings that go into the radiator u could do it but i just used a transcooler. and the transcooler ive got its a big fu cker its just a little smaller than the ac condencer. but on the upside they work great and it gives me an excuse to buy an aftermarket plenum Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeh now i get it, maybe the older el twin 10" thermos will do better to solve that problem, as i remember they're both level

started the install today.. fair bit of cutting involved. lots of dummy fitting and cutting . all fitted up. ive made 2 brackets to hold the bottom in for easy removal. 2 screws up top to secure it. all i need to do now is get a trans cooler as the pipes cant be fitted with the au fans. also ive had to repipe the low pressure line from the power steering as that also gets in the way. other than that i just need to wire it up .. ill be settin up one for the a/c and 1 for thermo switch. but im going to talk to an auto elec about a possible way to have both running with the thermo switch plus the 1 for a/c while the a/c is on. should be good will let u know about running temps after i get it all goin. my trans currently gets quite warm. engine temp about half way when im having fun 1/4 if im just cruzin round. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeh im a retard.. i spoke to the auto elec im just going to hook it up so both fans are on the thermo switch and also both fans will come on with the a/c
