Preserved from CalaisTurbo (partial recovery). Original authors and dates are shown; archived members are not current Holdcom accounts.

doesn't look like i expected a new commodore to, but i suppose looking at what they done to the new astras and barinas etc it isn't too surprising. i think the front is fugly beyond repair, rear end isn't too bad needs a bit of beefing up though dual twin exhausts a nice touch, middle section no complaints.

I'm sorry, it wont, its designed off the Torana TT36 which looks like this picture below. This is their new design direction. And to the person who said it looks to square, there is a reason... It has to be now because the saftey standard has changed for large cars and the bonnet has to be a certain height, not too low. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thats what the artists impression was based off. im 99.9% sure they would not bring out the exact same front as one of there old concept cars. yes it may be simular to that but im sure thats not the cars front. They would not give away the styling of their newest model about 2 years before production. You guys saying **** about how all these new cars look ****, you gotta realise its called progression. We cant be bringing out the vl shape with its feet firmly placed in the 70's. im sure many people hated the vt when it came in too. Now its one of the best selling holden cars ever. And i bet when you guys see the clubbie version you'll like it and it'l grow on you.

The Cross8 was shown 2 years before production, as was the VT Coupe (monaro). Also, the front has its differences to the Torana. Torana was shown partly to showcase Holdens new design path, so it will look a fair bit like it. But like you said 'Artists Impression'.... I'm not sure if the artist had seen it or not, but that would be very un-likely... so yeah, id say your right in that it wont look exactly like this picture. Test mules have been spotted though. Also, an un-named Buick had been spied in Northern Territory with its camoflage and what-not, some people think it will be either the Chinese or even American version of the VE.... I'll see if I can find a picture of that.....

Looks hot, the current model Commodore is ugly as a hatful of arseholes, the more it looks like something else, the better. Much improved in my opinion.

When VY's first came out they looked like a VT with lancer evo VIII front lights and late model lancer taillights I remember seeing drawings like what the VY/VZ looks like which was supposed to be the "all new" commodore when the VTs were out, but then they released the VX, and now the VY's dont look near as bad as they did in the artists drawings. Its all a design proccess and they will no doubt change it to work. And even if they dont Im sure 90% of Holden bogans will jump on the bandwagon anyway even if they slapped a Holden badge onto a hyundai excel and called it a commodore bogans would buy it or at least the shape would grow on them and soon enough they would be bragging about how good it is. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

By the way guys, the article is clearly an artists representation. Note how it says "crystal balling". Its an artists impression. Theyve just stuck the torana front on a audi/bmw german car. Its just what someone made who was paid to make it thought it would feel at the time. I'm sure holden has something great up their sleeve. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Motors artist impression is definately a chop, based on a Saturn Aura. Click on the link to see a pic. Just look at the reflections in the car for confirmation. http://www.fast-autos.net/saturn/aura.jpg As someone mentioned, a lot of dimensions and angles have changed to meet new safety regulations and the like, so the VE will be like no other Commodore. The whole point of the Torana concept was to see how people would react to the new styling. I think you will find that the VE will be fairly close to the Torana concept. As for the turboed 6, there are rumours that Holden are working on a turbo charged version of the alloytec 190. Further rumours suggest that HSV are thinking about adding non V8 models to their range, so this may be where the turboed models may come about.

This thing looks flat out like the Torana concept and all you guys saying its crap creamed yourself's over the Torana, whats the go there? The VT onwards commos are crap, they all just look like fat lumps of ****. The VY was a big improvement over the VT/VX , but the VZ looks Crap, too doughy in the front. I dont like many commodores,VH's, VK brockys, VL Calais, VR/VS HSV's. Thats about it. I like the look of the VE, getting away from the fat bodied VT,X,Y,Z platform. Holden need to shake things up a bit because im thinking of getting a new car and at the moment its probably going to be a Falcon! Hopefully the VE will bring me back from the darkside lol.
