Haha whatever man, it was my NA 5spd I use as a daily to get me around, cheaper than the calais turbo for driving to work and its amazingly bloody quick for a non turbo, bit of a freak really.
Its actually done a head on the weekend, and ive got a spare one in the shed, so ill take this chance to go for a cam and maybe a spool coz its not getting much traction with the one legger - Ill take it down to the track when its all done for a bit of fun and see what time it runs, cant argue with a slip, I think you'll be suprised what it can do!
Besides, with people like Rover and some others running as low as 14.3 in non turbos at the track with slips, I dont see why its so hard to believe some NA's are possible of low 15's or quicker?

Its true indeed. Just freak engines basically. Mine is in a similar in which it has just got a 2 1/2 cat back exhuast (which is leaking) and thats it. Its done 300,000 kays with old leads, fairly poor fuel system, small oil leaks ehre and there but still manages to pull consistant low 16's. 15's are on the cards VERY soon... Worst time I have ever done was a 16.7 (which was my very first run ever)....

Lol thats my best time...
but i have an auto.. and its a heavy calais.. so i think im doing ok..
Soon i'll have vlt lsd (have 3.7's for it too) and a vlt auto with Keas shiftkit, and im hoping for close to 15
then i'll put my xf tb back on and try and sort that out properly
and possibly get another cam..

Mate dont get owning a VK confused with a 5 speed VL.
We are not **** pullers, we did it on a long stretch of road that basically went slightly uphill towards the end.
If you knew anything about gtechs, if your on a hill you cant balance it to 0 which will **** up your reading anyway.
Dumb c unt.

We were testing a gtech on all of our calais turbos then he brought out his n/a and this thing is an animal for an N/A.
$600 extractors, pipe through cat, no mufflers and 2.5" lukey to the end, cold air intake, avanced timing and bp ultimate.
First pass 15.2 then did a 15.5 with 3 people in, He wins
lol $600 extractors hey, wat are they? is his exhaust completely straight through?? do the cops pick on him?
Extractors where RRP $600 when I got em, they had run out of the standard pacemaker ones he had quoted me on and said I could have the other set for the same price as the pacemaker ones coz nobody was going to pay $600 for a set of extractors (and who would on a NA) they're built by genie, not sure on the specs.
Exhaust is completely straight through and cops aint too much of a worry, its not particularly loud on idle and im only ever cruising around to and from work in it anyway...
Probably be driving it to perth this weekend actually to pickup some bits for the calais :P
It aint cracked, compression tested fine, no oil in water or vice versa, doesnt run rough, doesnt run hot... looks like it was just some gunk in the radiator. Even if it was cracked ive got a spare head + genuine gasket in the shed anyway so its not a biggie...

Ok mate with gtech's u can start off on a flat surface then the road may have a sudden decline and some kids tend to think there car runs 10's when in reality it run 16's. Oh and dont worry i aint confusing a 5 speed vl with any beastie vk as i own both. lol (http://www.spicytuna.net/wp/media/?mid=33)

Arab drifting??
Nar man we arent kids and the surface was FLAT.
Either way who cares I havnet got anything to prove just posting our results.
Rob
anyway mate a g tech has a +- in the calculations of at least 1 to 2 tenths of a second, depending on the model. a real time is down a track 1/4. g tech only gives you an estimated time that i could not say is accurate.
lol who cares either way give or take mate it still whoops all the N/A's ive seen.
I took a vid of it on my mobile phone but its at night, Ill try convert it to AVI and upload it tonight so you can have a look/listen.

i would have to see a time slip to beleave a n/a rb30 is quicker than 15.5 with no more than bolt ons. actually i would still question it.

the clutch will take 5 runs and work good, but on the 6th it slips on the 7th it catches on fire. hehe 5000rpm side step in 1st gear flat shift 2nd @5800-6000.
for a full list of engine mods or lack of engine mods go here....... http://forum.r31skylineclub.com/ind...?topic=24538.30 (http://forum.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?topic=24538.30)
i'm not trying to say that my car is what everyone should do, but it is a cheap, quick, and reilable. if you read the whole post poeple are recommended up to 10k worth of engine work to get not much more than i have.
With speed comes looks, With looks does not come speed, You decide.....
and yes it has twin throtttles, backyard job.
if run i a 13.9, than n20 will find its way into the engine very quick, than lets see how much you can use before melting ****. i'm thinking 150, and running 12's
Yeah, definately not claiming its anything special, just saying its quick for what it is. The gtech trap speed seemed to be spot on what I was doing, so it cant be too far outta wack surely? Also seems to hold itself against what I know are cars of that sorta speed on the road... only one way to tell for sure tho I guess.
Either way, Im actually selling it for like 2 grand at the moment, so if it hasnt sold within the next few months (when I get around to advertising it) Ill go for the spool/diff gears, rebuild the gearbox get some decent rubber and see what she can do down the track!

What tyres you normally run mate? Obviously your diff is locked or limo... Have you got the time slip of your best run?
