neons are easy to install.... 1 thing that you have to be very careful with is the tubes themselfs.. the neon tubes are EXTREMELY fragile and can break with the slightest bit of flex on the tube, I would also would not use the mounts that are supplied as they often break and loose your lighting.. you can get U shaped clamps made out of plastic that fit a big cable tie in them.. these work much better as they put less stress on the tube. As for LEDs there has been a massive array of differnt companies bringing out LED based undercar lighting.. most are standard cheap made in china crap to put it simply as a lot of ppl have stated they create dots on the ground etc. the thing that these companies forget is that it is the viewing angle of the LED that you need to get a bright even glow without dots. I have a underbody lighting kit on my own car called ICELED Electrostyling (http://www.bassdistribution.com.au) which is awesome it does over 2 million colours and it is so far and above the other kits on the market it is not funny, just simple things like having a very simple 3 wire interface to a controller (other LED kits have 7-8 wires) expansion kits to take patterns upto 8 feet in length, interior light sources that follow the patterns of the outside kit etc... I will admit it is expensive but with the amount of control over EVERYTHING that you have its hard to go past when you have a full network of lighting doing exactly what you want. all programmed via remote control through the small remote eye.. as for the law I dont know about in other states but in WA they are all fully as long as the light source cannot be seen plus if you install neons so that the tubes can be seen you are extremely gay.. hope that is of some help!

the only way to try and stop the dots is to cross aim the tubes under the car, unfortunately this usually means not much of the light will actually come out the side of the car but it will look almost as if it is floating on light. but again this depends on how bright they are and there viewing angles, IF the viewing angle is so small then there will be no hope unfortunately bout you can try cross aiming like I said.. just to give you an idea here is a pic (not a calais I know) of a car that I took photos of with the ICELED kit, you can see how far out the side the light comes and its brightness plus NO DOTS!! click here (http://www.bassdistribution.com.au/iceled/images/mazda3.jpg) cheers

I have blue Underbody LEDS all four sides, but cheap ones. Although i have not had anyproblems with dots being sprayed on the ground. Looks like a normal neon tube to me as i have compared it. **** i wouldn't mind those multicoloured ones tho. I know you can get remotely controlled multi coloured ledz tho and i have been endeavouring to get some but can't seem to find any!! Any idea where i could get a set, bassula, and how much???

there is some dots for you... they were a 7 colour kit if I remember correctly but as you can see it was just creating round circles onthe floor with very bad colour mixing. Tash and manual you can get them from HERE (http://www.bassdistribution.com.au) but they are far from cheap at $1699 for the full underbody kit but you are really getting a top of the line kit with more effects that you can possibly imagine. they are more along the lines of proper nightclub lighting with the effects etc inc a multicolour strobe! right click/save as this movie (6MB) is shows you what these kits can do (http://bassdistribution.com.au/iceled/videos/iceledmegamix.wmv) oh and in development (to be released soon) control not just via the remote control but control over teh whole system via computer with a bluetooth link you can also chat to the manufacturer direct via there website at http://www.iceled.com.au/area51 which acts as a support forum etc any more Qs I'll be happy to answer them. and here is a pic of my own car with the same kit fitted with a few extra bits all working together.. cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

photograhing cars with lighting on is actually quite a hard thing to do as you need to do many differnt things... for 1 you need a tripod.. this is a MUST 2 you need a decent flash the ability to turn the lights off from outside the car.. when I take my shots I use long exposure times (10-30 seconds) and the lighting is only ever turned on for at maximum 4-5 seconds of that time.. any more and it blows out and looks white. the rest of the time you have to try and get the car bright enough to see so a decent flash is needed (or another car with white headlights) to bring up the side of the car etc while the shutter is still open. this is how we did the shot of the mazda in sydney hope that helps.. cheers
