Yeah, the SS one's look much better, but I wasn't prepeared to hack an SS Seat up first. Now I have got it sorted I will do a SS Rear Bench as well. As for pics you will have to wait until the car is ready. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

heres an idea: go to a wreckers like pick and payless and just remove the seat skins (the material draped over the foam base), and wrap your current bench in it and wire it done as per factory

The easiest way to explain it is to break it down into 2 pieces, the SEAT and the Backrest SEAT For the seat, you need to use your VL wire base with the VR/VS Foam, you need to cut 60mm out of the middle of the seat to narrow it.( VR/VS are wider than VL) and glue it back up again. Then get it trimmed. Backrest The backrest is made up of three pieces, the middle and each side. The middle needs 60mm taken out of it to narrow it. Each side needs to have approx 50mm taken from the bottom to get it to fit. Many thanks to the Upholsterer that helped me with this. hi mate with the middle section how did you fix it in place i'm guessing you didn't use the plastic on the back or did you modify that as well Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Great thread. I just put some VS berlina seats in yesterday and it was as easy as pie after reading this. Pretty good for me as I'm usually pretty useless with a spanner!

I've been told that to get the rear seat modified professionally would prob cost about $300 + the cost of the seat. I haven't looked into it properly but I'm sure you could get it done for less than that.

It'll be harder to do into a VK due to the different floor pan. I'm not sure if it'd be impossible, but definitely harder. As quoted on another site by commodorenut: Quote: VB-VK driver's floor is the same as VL, so use a VL2 base/runners. VB-VK Passenger seat floor is flat, not humped like the VL one, so it needs the VN-VS rails left on, but you need to remove the bracket from the front corner, replace it with a "foot" from a donor set of rails. Will also need some spacers under the runner beside the trans tunnel.
