We better not see any "Why do i get 100km's to a tank thread"

You have been told all the above ideas are a waste of time and pointless.
If you really want to do something, go about making some CAI with a hole
through your airbox and some piping running out to somewhere near your
front bar.....

06-12-04, 06:48 GMT+10#22 i CANT STAND the sound of a pod filter induction noise, ESPECIALLY on an n/a vl or on a vn v6. Nothing worse.

28-08-06, 22:50 GMT+10#26 I have got a VL Berlina which runs 10.80 and it has a pod. Im going back to standard air box with a cold air feed as the sound of the pod with 22psi being sucked through it makes it screams. Not good if you are wanting to listen to anything untoward eg detonation in the engine. Pod v's Standard Air Box with K & N pad filter will be minimal differences. Will keep you posted.

29-08-06, 00:02 GMT+10#28 The ECU reset might work for some cars. I know in a soarer it works. Because the ECU wants to learn how you drive. But because other people have driven the car it has had different driving styles. Also for the Soarer i have been told that once you reset the ECU you have to mash the pedal to the ground so the car will self tune itself to more racing than economical. This equals in higher fuel consumption and better performance. But with city driving the car eventually averages itself out and learns your driving habbit and tunes the car more to your behaviour.
But in saying all that i can not say that applies to a VL.

29-08-06, 11:25 GMT+10#30 The very primitive engine management system that the VL has cannot learn anything, it has been pre-programmed by Holden, and various sensors around the engine feed the computer with information which it then compares against the pre-programmed "map" and minutely adjusts the pulse width, and spark timing. Thats it, it has no adaptive properties whatsoever.
