I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I just bought a set of the 4" Kevlar Precision Coaxials from Jaycar for $89 after reading this: http://forums.fastfours.com.au/showthread.php?t=38993 They pitch them up as being as good as the focal 100v2. As far as fitting was concerned, I removed the rubber caps of the magnets, pulled off the metal tweeter grills, chamfered off the edge of the plastic tweeter surround, and needed to take a little bit of material off the inside of the speaker grilles. A bit of work, but they fit perfectly snug.

heres a run down of how u do it.... 1. get a flathead screwdriver. put it in the side of the ac/vent ( the black ones) pop them out, just be carfull becuase the little tabs can break, and ull probably find they have been siliconed at some point. 2. get a phillips head there is gonna be two holes that the screw driver has to go thru to reach the screws, which are located at the top of the black surrond of the ac vents. ( youll see what i mean) unscrew them. then lift the grey vent up and towards the back of the car. as there are two pins that slide into holes. 3. change ur speakers over ( porbably wise to change the cabling too) coz theres no point in having good speakers and **** cable..

I dont know if im on the same wavelength here, but my vk doesnt have screws holding the speakers in, just some clip and the speakers themselves are smaller than a 4", they are more like a 3.5"?

VK is the same as VH i have no *** idea how anyone has ever done it cause the holes are tiny and the speakers are attached to the speaker grill. but they arent square, theyre attached to a circle piece of metal lol its hard to explain but its ****ed! you need to hack up the dash hardcore, but you cant do that without taking the dash out. simple fix - dump exhaust at dif and run a screamer pipe all the sound you'll ever need Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I would imagine they will sound even better running off an amp. I have soundstream 3way coaxials in the rear, and a cheap sony 12" Xplod sub, both running off an amp. I think you would struggle to find any better 4" speaker, that will actually fit within the space constraints. Mind you it was a bit of work to get them to fit. I guess it basically comes down to whether or not you are willing to put holes in your door trims, and in my case I'm certainly not. Love the factory look, and am not after a competition winning system.
