^^^ ive heard PLENTY of injected cars that dont make a clicking noise...
This thread has reassured me abit cus my lifters have been ticking in the morning for quite a long time. For about maybe 3-5 minutes, if that, they tick on and off and then eventually stop completely, and its usually only on the first startup of the day, after that theyre sweet. I was thinking i might have to replace them but maybe not...?
Don't know the name but my mechanic uses an engine flush that isn't for retail sale. He said it's much stronger than the Wynn's crap and the rest, does a much better job. I'm changing my oil soon, going to run penrite HPR10 (was thinking 15 but 10 seems good to go), I'll be seeing him about getting some of that flush, $14/bottle. I've got at least one lifter that ticks almost constantly, it ticks for 10 seconds, stops for 30, and so on, temp doesn't matter. I did put some stuff in that's said to clean lifters, it worked for a few days, so they're either really stuffed or too gunked up. I have a spare set in the shed, used ones. I'm going to strip them down, soak them in fuel to clean them, then reassemble them and give them a go. Of course I will soak them overnight in oil and give them ahand prime to get some in before running them. Generally it's the back ones that play up from what I've been told, so I'll try the back 6 and see what happens. Have changed them before so know it's no big job.
