04-11-04, 00:01 GMT+10#23 trans was built by stanfield automatics, I only have receipts for a new 2nd and 4th band from 2 years ago. A new 2nd was necessary then as i put in the wrong modulator and actually snapped off the end of the 2nd band (a very uncommon happening and unrelated to wear & tear).
As for it holding 250rwkw neil i honestly dont know, it has been holding closer to 200 for a long time but best to get in contact with the guys who built it. im sure they could give us some direction

04-11-04, 12:58 GMT+10#24 Of course I understand that autos are better for the strip and also for keeping your hands on the wheel while the car skates at 100kph+. However I prefer a 450hp MAX street car with a stick because that is where I will do 99.9% of my driving. NOT at the drag strip. And yes Ollie I have been in a few 'fast' autos. I'm not ignorant to their potential.
I hate when people get fascinated by the 1/4 mile and run lockers and big stall autos and hate to drive their car because they use it for daily driving. I'm not going to fight it, have your autos and enjoy your lack of compression braking and clutch control. Sure you'll smash me off a set of lights, but lets have run into a corner and out the otherside...

04-11-04, 14:22 GMT+10#25 i agree with luke we drive our cars 99% of the time on the street where imho a manual is better

04-11-04, 16:17 GMT+10#26 I don't need to be told how fantastic autos are for holding horsepower or how great it is if you can't reach the clutch pedal. However Luke has seen the light and is trying to sell his box (tehehe) so lets stop jacking his thread and take our arguements to some muddy boxing ring in an industrial estate to watch rabid pigeons fighting for the right to vote

doesnt matter wether its auto or manual , u would lose it just the same and spin out and nearly take out a light pole.

04-11-04, 19:02 GMT+10#29 I know i wouldnt be a good enough driver to handle 400 plus at the treads with a manual, to be honest i cant see the point of having that much in a street car. But thats just my 2 cents.

04-11-04, 23:06 GMT+10#30 suspension helps more in corners than does a gearbox luke but a valid point none the less. its not that ive seen the light, ive always wanted a manual but to do it properly costs money that i cant always justify spending
