does the noise stop when u push the clutch in? if u sit the car in neutral with the clutch out does it make the noise? if so ...its your thrust bearing...not hard to change...but the gearbox has to be out

you could also go down to your local hardware store and buy a noise catcher, set it free in your gear box, worked wonders for mine man!? give it a try!

I was going to let you all in on my secret soon ne way so here it is:
When you get weird noises in your car the best way to get rid of them is to get a massive stereo and leave it all the way up with your windows down, play Britney Spears and no one will ever here the weird noise again.
You may not live very long as a side effect but you get that!

oi wat u gotta do is go outside with a jar and catch some more noise, then u gotta release the noise u just caught down into the gearbox. The reason ur noise is being noisy is cos it is lonely bro. Dont be so inconsiderate.
Before u laugh at this idea, think about it, if u were inside a gearbox by urself would u make noise?

when we replced the clutch in my wagon the mechanic put half a litre or so automatic transmission fluid into my five speed and it made it a lot quieter and smoother but just saying dont take my word for it.
Hmmm... this is actually very true.... it makes everything al ot smoother!
Id say replace it with auto fluid

it could be the counter-shaft bearing, if its the counter shaft bearing u will only be able to hear it when its in neutral!!
