haha thanks, the only thing I was planning on changing would be flush mounting the amp on the side, wouldn't take much extra to do. Heres another two pics..

Quote: No specs, I was way too slack to do it myself. Hey Bextor so did you pay for yours to get done by a professional guy or what? If so how much did it cost you?

dunno why you would pay a professional person to do that when you could just do it yourself. Professional would prolly cost a fair bit due to the customization you have to do, doing it yourself quality style aint really that hard. Im trying to think of a way to customize my boot to fit my sub but i have a wagon so i aint sure how i wana do it yet, i want it to be noticable but still functional so that i can still fold down the seat and sleep in there. Anyone got any ideas? i was thinking of having it all in the spare tyre well like i have seen someone else on these forums with but my parents wont let me cause it means that i wont have a spare tyre, so throw me ur ideas guys

Hmm, I'll have to disagree VLstock, to get the level of quality in mine would take me weeks- And it wouldn't turn out anything alike it without looking at it beforehand. And most car stereo installers have templates for specific cars, so all they have to do is Print, Trace, Cut, Carpet and Install. I paid a fortune at around 500 dollars, but that was all wiring, installing the subs, amps, tuning, all materials wich only would have been 60 bucks.. But I was still happy to hand over the cash.. If you want a professional looking job you pay for it. I'll compare to my mates car, he is half skilly on the old jigsaw, made my parcel shelf etc, and he did his own boot.. And as good as it may seem, you get up close and you see alot of little mistakes.

i think that its fairly easy to do it yourself, you just need some spare time like im doing yr 12 so its not hard to find the time lol. mine is just wacked together and the box is way too big. yea im going to change the whole boot because it sounds crap! you loose too much bass when the subs are faced the way mine are, so im turning the subs around to face the cabin, with a new box (i had a mate from a sterio joint draw me up some plas for the perfect sound quality for those subs. use the same wall but cut it out and buy another amp to run the speakers and flush mount them where the subs are now. then ill do the sides as you guys have done with the wood and the vs tyre cover should look and sound good.

your ment to get more dB by facing them towards the rear of the car ain't you? I remember reading in a car audio mag a while ago where they did tests on where the best postion in a boot is, and which way to face it to get the most dB at the drivers seat. Best spot was on the passenger half facing the back of the car from memory

If your facing the back of the seats its hitting a thin sheet of metal and stopping dead in its tracks, if its ported through the parcel shelf it will work alot better, but that metals a ******* and you can't chop it out. I got huge improvements when facing mine away from the cabin, and it seemed to be alot louder and kept the sound inside the car, so long as theirs a good seal around the boot lid. I recommend it if you want sound inside your car and not a doof doof wank factor from three blocks away.

Quote: looks alright dude, almost the same as mine. Does anyone know the difference between the alpine type S and type R subs??? Type Rs are thicker and more durable than type S also require heaps more power one type R is like 2 type S. Anyone got Type Xs yet? they are 1000w RMS each and run about $800. Also how do you deal with the fuel tank i want to install my subs on top of it but the box will not fit is it ok to have it tilted and a gap underneath the sub box?

i faced my sub forwars on an upward angle, thru the 2 5" holes in my parcel shelf, it looks shyte but soundz gr8, since i turned it around my boot lid doesnt vibrate, my parcel shelf does, but its not bad at all. which way ur sub sounds better all depends on the shape of ur box

Howdy, Just added to my /////ALPINE Collection some new Type S - 6" to the front doors. They would have 2 be the best, clearest, speakers i have heard in that price range. Also listened to some Pioneer and VDO, no wear near did they sound as crisp and clear as these. Certainly werth the money by all means. Soon else 2 be added are a new pair of Type S 6x9'z and a new MP3 head unit. All Alpine of course. I'm lookin @ a CDA-9827 any views on this model?? Soon 2 have Pics is ya wana look Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Theres a thread dedicated to that, each person has heard their own story. I think mine sound better facing backwards though.

I found that facing to the rear of the car was better. Gave you more of a rumble and vibrations in the car. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
