Two great ways to use less fuel in a VL V8 and that is convert it to manual or fuel inject it. Corsa

Keep the 8! V8 rumble rules, and by the time you work everything out itll prolly be the cheaper option. If you want more power theres just as many upgrades for the 8 as there are for the turbs.

If it was me I would keep the 5L mate. Once I get enough money im going to get a Calais V8. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

all these options don't seem very economical. Ride a pushbike/skateboard if petrol costs too much. That will fix the fuel economy problem.

keep the 5L, like it was said at least you know what needs to be done... $2,000 sounds cheap to get a VL in the condition your happy with. ive spent way more than that and im still planning for more upgrades. what tir31 said is a good idea, that would be my 2 options tho, keep the 5L and spend the 2g's, or do the engine swap.

If you want something economical but still fun. Gas the 8 you have. I think it will be the cheapest approach to the problem and give the best return. Getting a VLT is not going to change the fuel bill to much. If you want a VLT thats fine, but you said above fuel economy was the only reason for this thread.

Keep the V8 and gas it. Then fix what ever else is wrong with it. Buy a turbo spool it everywhere will use the same amount im sure!
