It'll need all those kW to pull the fat barge they put it into
Spot on!. The first thing holden and ford need to do to make a performance car is shed a fair few kilos off them. then the things will go quicker, and turn better, without 1 single extra rwkw. After the VS/EL they just gained a ****load of weight for no apparant reason.
lol at add jokes, the guys really gets 'thrown back' into the seat by the monster family car engine of his...

The Torana is coming back, it has a supercharged V6 in it.
Due back 2007 or something,
Read about it ages ago in Street Machine mag, actual public address by Holden.

Holden is supposed to have on display at this years Sydney motorshow a car built on a smaller than Commdoore RWD platform with Twin Turbo V6. Although pridcution for this car is more likely to see 4cyl engines including turbo possibility and a N/A V6. The Twin Turbo engine might be a hint at what will appear in a future Commodore or could just as easily be the engine heading over to Italy for a sports car.
Corsa
the commodore will only have around 3-4 years tops left anyway, although its weight is the problem they should leave it like that, the extra weight is due to better safety for crashes, they're forcing extra metal anywhere they can claim it'll help.
how bout we just wait 4 da torana 2 cum out and then complain about its weight, cos it seems nobody really wants 2 make a light car anymore.
and to whoever said the turbed v6 for the commy is already around in europe, yes it is, they're putting 2.8 and 3.2l v6's in european cars right now (the alloytec ones), so for an expensive import look into european cars
the old v6's couldnt barely hold together n/a, thats very true, but this v6 is new, we'll just hav 2 giv it a good 4-5 years 2 c if this one holds together well
It's more the fact that the balancing on the v6's were up to ****, and now if they are planning on slapping something like a turbo or two on the side balancings going to get alot more critical. And yeah the alloytec has been out for ages, Holdens just grabbed another engine off somebody again and changed a few little things for their own likings. i.e. below is the 3.2 out of an Opel car.. Put the Holden plastic cover on and its nearly a perfect match.

The engine hasn't been around in production cars for "ages." Also Holden hasn't just grabbed an engine from another overseas car. Holden engineers helped design, test and have also built the engine unlike the previous V6. GM wasn't even going to build a 3.6lt version but Holden pushed for and got it.
Some people on here seem to think that if it hasn't got a 'Nissan' bage on it it must be **** which is plain crap...
