correct, if u look at the table at the back of your gregorys you'll find any conversions needed, but here's what you're after: 1 lb-ft = 1.35582 Nm (to be exact) 1 Nm = .737562 lb-ft (to be exact again) enjoy! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thankz for that im just gunna buy a RB30E black strip it right down send it away to get cleaned and honed and bored and get a set of forgies installed which i have already bought and get the rods shot peaned and the standard crank put in new bearings and ACL seals. how much would this cost and then get the engine back so i can install the head and all the rest myself. i was going to do the whole lot by myself but im having 1nd thoughts with all the hype about different thou's in pistons and so on. wat do u guys think??

If you've already bought forgies, they will all be the same size, hopefully slightly oversize. The pistons/bores from the factory were sized in 5 grades according to varying manufacturing tolerences, which i'm guessing weren't quite as consistant as current aftermarket performance pistons. (Considering these engines were manufactured up to 18 years ago). Get your cylinders bored to suit the new slugs and you can then re-assemble it yourself. Best to take everything to a machine shop and get them to check it out. Just let them know you will assemble it. Cost me about $1K to get my RB30 cleaned up, inspected, honed, new bearings, rings, seals, crank balanced and installed with grub screws in the oil galleries. This also included mods to the RB25 head to match up water jackets.

They have a good reputation and a mate had Ross pistons and they worked well.

ok so wat u guys are saying is that lower compression isnt bad but it makes the turbocharger work harder to produce more boost to make it equal. my VLCT makes full boost b4 2000rpm i noticed this last night but i was in 2nd when i did it. i raced a maserati yesterday and i noticed also my boost comes on pretty quick now i also thought this might be because im running the RB20DET turbo but really i am not sure wat turbo i am running at all. duz any1 have pics of teh VLT turbo and of a RB20DET turbo sizes would be good aswell. send to [email removed] thankz guyz

You can buy a brand new roller for about $100 more than that! Although you would have to buy an external gate and plumb it into your manifold....

yer i was thinking that bloody exspensive well a wastegate brand new is what about $700 and i heard theres a steel box you cant get welded to the manifold to fit the wastegate insted of having to get a whole new manifold.
