yeah this test is nice in theory. but i doubt one test would apply to every turbo vehicle on this site. every different cooler, turbo, ECU mix you can think of would have to be tested, as they all operate ever so differently and release differnet results cause of how they are manufactured to run. there is no the law would cover you if you said a similar VLT passed. to be covered you would need exactly, (every component the same as the test car) to be covered. when it comes to the law it is super anal as we all know, they won't just lay down and die on this one. SIMILAR SPEC IS NOT "SAME" SPECS.

ive talked to the epa guy myself about the same topic petros and i still thought he was a **** sucker, he tried to tell me that they pull over more taxis and trucks and commercial cars then actual modified cars?? (MY ASS) i said to him straight out ive never in my life seen a taxi or any commercial vehicle with a EPA sticker or ever be at the EPA station and i gave him abit of hell i cant stand EPA i cant stand the government they can all go shoot themselfs, even if you do this test you will still get rooted somehow by the police or epa they will always find a way. ive got a better way of bypassing the epa but that i cant say publically on the site Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Quote: Would a highly modifed vlt be able to be detuned succesfully... I suppose they would try to minimise fuel to decrease emmisions etc yeh? haha i was thinkin with aftermaket ecus u can have more than 1 tune saved for ur motec for example. u can have ur 5psi EPA legal pass all tests tune. your 25psi pulp hardcore street tune and then ur 30psi C16 dumped exhaust tune for the strip aswell when u get a visit sent to u from the epa u just 'plug and play' for 2 mins and wolah... Legal as legal can be. 'cant touch this' hahahah!!!!

Will the 363's provide enough flow to run a nine ??? I would have though you may need something flowing more than 600cc. But then again my car would run a 13 so what would i know hahah.

Quote: Coolers they know, trust me (But it doesn't matter, all coolers are fine now) what do ya mean vlt-dreamer? is this just hte rule about coolers being ok if theres only one intake mod? i thought aftermarket coolers were still dodgy if the car didnt come with one std, like a vl. (not that i care, i have a soarer)

im not an expert, so don't shoot me if im wrong.........but AFAIK you can't have an aftermarket ecu to pass this test that can be retuned. simply for that reason, this is why aftermarket ecu's are illegal, because they can be de-tuned. the emmisions test doesnt exempt the car from the relevant ADR's, VSI's, etc, it just shows that the emmisions comply with it, the reason for the epa rules is that they believe x mods violate x rules, the test just shows otherwise. AFAIK adjustable boost controllers will still be illegal, you can't get an adjustable controller to pass, unless it passes at all possible ranges, something like a 14psi avo wastegate acutator could pass however i believe. if they make you take the evaporative emissions test, then have fun passing that. lol we all know the cops could will still defect either way, its weather u can be bothered taking it to court

Corsa special vechlies have this test so they can run Motecs. Hey Petros, Have you met Pettit, top cop eh. Alot of hardcore Aussie coppers are racists but what do you do, I have'nt given smart ass attitude to coppers so I have been left alone ok, had the odd defect from time to time. But it's been my fault. VL's regardless of age will always have to meet emissions for the ADR's they came out with, I think it's ADR 27-A. But as already said if the car has Autronic, whatever, and other mods like injectors, as long as it meets the ADR it is deemed ok, but the test will cost you an arm and a leg better off buying a identicle car leave it stock, and pay one rego but use it between the 2 cars, That way when you get caught present the stocker for the tests, that will freak them out. I have done this before never had engine numbers checked or anything until I sold one of the cars. The main reason why I bought my capri is because it's produced before any emission ADR's were in place, the only thing they can get me on is excessive exhaust noise. End of the day you will get a defect, EPA, depending on the copper regardless of what test or engineers reports you have. take it to court if you are right but chances are it will cost you alot more and you probably lose your case. Find yourself a dodgey RWC place, then have a back up emergency EPA kit so when you gotta take your car in for tests you swap everything around. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
