car crazy. im sorry. ithought the relief valve was what controlled its flow. i have read(from a reliable source) that you shouldnt use hi volume pumps on street motors, if nobody believes me i dont care Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

guys think about it if nissan use these pumps in GTRs and these come standard with 206kws and we know they have more then 206kws but thats what they just claim, then im sure they r much better then a oil pump thats in a VL that came out with what 150kws? and its rev limit is 6000rpm where as gtr rev limit is 7000rpm, so i doubt gtr oil pumps are **** and the way i look at it is end of the day its only metal and any metal can brake so i dont think GTR pumps is a bad thing

I dont know names of types and whats better but i know this. think of it this way, gold is softer metal so it cant b all the same, and btw standard vl water pumps r shyte too, my uncle's car over heated a tonne, the l;ast thing they checked was the pump, all the blades were snapped of and my uncle is old and drives slowly so it wouldnt have been under a lot of pressure, the gtr oil pump may also break under the same circumstances and i'de say its easier to look elsewhere for an oil pump than to argue over it

R32 GTR's and some early R33GTR's use the oil pump you guys are describing. These are a direct fit onto a RB30. The later is a better design, it does not fit directly onto a RB30 but can be made to fit with a JUN adaptor and machining. The later oil pump does not suffer from the problems of the older pump, The gears are larger and wider spaced, hence the reason for the adaptor and machining. This is what I am using on my RB30DET, You will find that the skyline guys are using this oil pump on the more hipo RB26's....

ive got to get a new oil pump for my RB30ET i have as its damaged are the N/A VL oil pumps the same as a VLT or different what Price is a VLT oil pump ive heard $900 and What is wrong with the stock VLT oil pump, i cant see much of an avantage of using a GTR oil pump unless you are cranking out in excess of 300+RWKW

I use the std VLT pump, the bypass spring has been shimmed by around 3mm. pressure and flow are great. my car is always on the limiter and always runs 25 - 26 psi for long periods. A big problem with hi po oil pumps on street engines is using relatively thick oil and giving them sh:t before oil is up to temp. its generally a V8 thing. I use a straight 40wt oil If I ran 60wt and gave it sh:t from cold it wouldnt like it much im sure
