At what RPM is your car well and truely honking, stocky?
While most things are a compromise, lag versus top end power, there are exceptions such as big capasity engines with twins, which make massive torque at low rpm and only get stronger as the revs climb.
When your dealing with a small capasity engine like our 3ltrs, turbo selection and exhaust design play an important part.
Hybrid Vl, lag is a weird thing, soo many factors contribute to it, I have a .82 TO4 which spools faster than a stocker T03, it's all in the design.

yeh morgs i remba u telling me a vy v6 would hose a stock vlt in a traffic light duel
as the v6 produces its power downlow compared to the stock vlt.
can someone correct me if i am wrong
but doesnt ur fly wheel kw = ur rear wheel hp
eg stock vlt
150 fly wheel kw = 150rwhp = 110.855 rwkw
david: all depends on drivetrain loss. autos vs manuals would be different but i'd say that's ROUGHLY right.

honking is a weird way to put it, but if i get it off the line without spinning the tyres (hard to do with current setup) it quickly gets to 3000rpm where it absolutely takes off. feels a bit like a turbo, the power band is that pronounced, but the time it takes to get to 3000 is pretty well unnoticeable. i'm surprised that the big power hit doesn't show up in my dyno sheets, they just seem to climb smoothly, but when you're in the car you can feel it. it's mainly to do with the cam, but i'm happy with it.
