If you are talking about towards Bunbury way there are ALWAYS cops from Perth to Bunbury.
Im interested to know what models are the best atm specially for getting multinovas.
You can buy radar jammers from overseas too, id love one of them!

radars work by sending a radar beam to the object, it bounces back the the 'gun' and calculates how long it took, etc. therefore giving a speed reading.
don't think that is quite how radars work. the reflected radar beam is doppler shifted according to the speed of the car. the gun measures the difference in the emitted and received frequencies to get the doppler shift and hence the speed.
laser speed guns work by shooting multiple beams per second, measuring the time differences in reflected beams, hence the speed.

08-06-05, 11:22 GMT+10#25 I remeber reading in the paper it is legal to buy one in QLD, but as soon as you put it inside a car you are breaking the law even if its not hooked up... From memory I think the fine was about $150 if you are caught using one and they confiscate it, It also said about 80 odd people got caught with them last year and had them confiscated. I wouldn't bother wasting my money on it. Probably wouldn't need one to begin with either.

08-06-05, 11:29 GMT+10#26 i could not see how a scanner is ilegal as most people with raidos licences would have one, lots of plane spoters would have them. if you have a transmiter as well then you would be in trouble if you started transmiting on the police freq but who would be stupid enough to do that?

08-06-05, 12:30 GMT+10#27 Scanners are legal if they are registered for listening on emergency and police channels.
If you transmit, registered or not, on those channels its illegal.
A cop cannot fine you for having a CB/UHF in your car.
radar detectors are illegal, whether or not they are hooked up once inside the car.
The trick is where to hide it. Most attach to your dash and have a station which hooks up power and sensor on the windscreen. Im sure if you get pulled over by a cop you have more than enough time to pull it off (no disembly required) and throw it under your seat/seatcover... or out the window if u wish.
My question is, do normal CB/UHFs in queensland pick up police channels, and what systems are police using for their side mount and guns. Can U.S. ones pick up ausy stuff?

08-06-05, 12:38 GMT+10#28 police will transmit on uhf or vhf not CB as CB is free to air no lic needed but is only a small freq of 27mhz unlike uhf n vhf

08-06-05, 21:40 GMT+10#33 The question I ask is why bother? Is it really worth the risk? Despite all the hype, no detector is "undetectable". It's all bs.
I have heard of people who have had their car pulled apart to find the detector, and once found, they are left to put it back together again.
If you get fined, its your own stupid fault.

09-06-05, 18:32 GMT+10#34 In Victoria we have harsher penalties for speeding, even if you are 10kms over the limit you lose like 3 points!!! Why not try an get an advantage over sneaky ***k cops hiding, trying to catch you.
Dont speed? Dude I drive VL turbo, if I wanted to go slow I would buy a schitbox of a car
