you'd want to hope so
i'm not sure about s1- s2 rail conversion though, as series 2 rails unbolt from the seat, and i think s1 don't.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

VR/VS SS seats fall under the same category as the Calais etc of the same model I assume?

this sounds sweet as, but i also need TAN seats to suite my beige interior. My bt1's an 88, that makes it a s2 eh, im just being cautious cos i wouldnt be suprised if its different being a bt1, government car and all. What is the easyest way (apart from wat year it was built) to determine whether iv got a s1 or s2 vl?

i always thought the main thing to easily tell if its a S1 or S2 is that series 1 had chrome door handles and S2 had black.

My '87 SL is a Series 1, i spose you could assume yours is too?
There should be something on your ID plate that distinguishes, I think there was a thread on it. Try searching for "VIN calculator" there's a full run-down on what all the letters and numbers mean (build date, options etc).
Easiest way to tell is S1 have chrome door handles, S2 have black...

They'll definitely be the same rails for Exec, Berl, Cal, S, SS, even HSV. The only one I'm not too sure on is the Statesman, would prob b the same as well though...

when you say identical, are you meaning as far as shape and comfort go, or are you meaning the bolt holes are identical?

just the general sea itself. its a lot firmer but its basically a revised version of the VL seat. basically all the mechanisms are the same

like i said! the VL s2 - VS use the same seats, all you have to do to fit them is bolt on the VL rails as they suit the floorpan in the VL.

yeah pretty much. i dont reckon its worth writing a technical on how to do this. maybe just edit this thread and put it in the technical section.
If anyone wants me to write a technical on how its done then raise your hand otherwise i wont bother. its just that easy.
