My my, another politically influenced law. Sure, many voters would love to see these laws in place, but the awful and somewhat sad truth is that they will have no positive effect on road safety. Just like Speed cameras. Why? because there has been no testing, nor precedent results to justify the creation of the law, and no proof that it will increase safety /reduce deaths/crashes. A little FACT about road safety policy. In the past three years, speed camera revenue has contibuted over 1.5 billion dollars to government coffers. People have lost licenses, jobs and livlihoods. Many new road rules have come into place, reduced speed zones, speed humps and other speed control devices, increased police presence on the road among other 'safety' policies like confiscation of cars, and yet........ Taking into account the ever increasing number of vehicle registrations and licensed drivers on Australian roads, the number of fatalitites has remained STATIC for over three years now. These policies have been implemented, with NO POSITIVE RESULTS. NO RESULTS! Yet taxpayers have forked out over 1.5billion extra for what?? In South Australia, their own government statistics showed that speed accounted for lees than 19% of accidents, reckless driving less than 8%. What was the big cause??? Inattention at 52% I.E, not concentrating.

Oh by the way, if you ever get a speeding fine in the mail, request photos of the car. If you can't see the driver (like 99.99% of cases), the police have failed to positively identify you as the offender, and cannot place you at the scene of the crime beyond all reasonable doubt. How does this work? You share your car with family, friends etc...and as the offence occured approximately three weeks ago (the average time it takes for a speeding fine to arrive in the mail) you cannot remember who was driving at that particular second. A statuatory declaration is signed by you stating this. Remember, a criminal charge must be proven 'beyond all reasonable doubt' before a guilty verdict can be found. 500 years of case law are the precedents you have in your favor. Get advice from a solicitor, or from Legal Aid, you may want to hire a sloicitor if you've never done this before. At $105 for doing 63km in a 60kmh zone, its worth your time. And when you win, the Police pay all court costs. I know of people who have been cleared of over 10 offences, and have done this myself twice so far. One occasion, the speed camer van was parked on the nature strip illegally, therefore rendering the evidence 'inadmissable' as it was collected illegally. Keep at it people, magistrates do get rather sick of having their time wasted by stupid little cases like these, where police and lawmakers have failed to implement them legally.

Yeah f u c k bureaucratic laws and any slapper who supports them. I hate do-gooders and their need to make themselves feel better. Get a dog. Get a life. Get help. Often laws are created as a knee jerk reaction to a problem, and fear without basis often results in poor planning and research (!). Like speed humps everywhere. Avereage increase in NOx and Co2 in those streets which have more than three speed humps? 600%. Yeah 600%! And my gearbox gets a workout! hehe. Do you find it hard to cruise at 50km/h too? its like i always put it back to second gear at around 2800rpm (burn more fuel) to keep at that speed. Otherwise id be cruising at 60 at waaay under 2000! I somehow feel it is just a case of needing to 'feel' better. You see, people often do things that 'feel' right. Not neccessarily what IS right. Government and lawmakers are human too (apparently) and are not exempt from emotions. An example of this type of thinking exists with the refugee/illlegal immigrant situation. It feels good to help these poor *******s start a new life. It feels good to help them get here. Yet many hundreds die in the water every year, because they believe they will be granted refugee status if they can just get that leaky deathtrap accross to Australia!. If you closed the door, if the refugees knew that they would be deported immediately the boat arrived , hundred of lives would be saved each year because refugees would not attempt the crossing. And yes, they can apply for asylum from indonesia and most other asian countries. just takes a bit longer. (not as long as the years in the detention centre but, I'll bet, hehe)! But that doesnt 'feel' as good does it? Theres no physical or visual result to satisfy that need to 'feel' right. Even though you have just saved hundreds of lives. Its this type of immature ill-thinking that often influences laws and policies.. The other popular incentive is CASH MONEY biatch! You cant just make up a law without researching the effects first. You can't assume that its gonna work. And since road fatalities have remained static, you can't tell me that confiscating cars works? What are we idiots? We also don't need lawmakers assuming that because something works in one state, it will work in another! Geez Louise! Keep this in mind when you see someone making an important decision. Are they thinking with their brain, or have they not the balls/experience/maturity and so let their emotions dictate their actions. Some pricks are like that. Don't put up with it! Anybody know of these bureaucratic do-gooder types of people? I know one! Have fun kiddies! Aaron
