I lost my grimace in total to a tree Yea... its just hard to look at it like that... i guess deep down i am quite pleased, but on the surface im still extremely fcuked off at the whole incident! especially the part about the cops trying to fcuk me over! Oh and i'd expect to still b alive and not too badly injured (being that its a commy and not some ricer)... i dunno if i said at the start of this thread or not, but i wasnt even gon 50kph, i had just left the driveway! plus i would hav scrubbed off some of that speed under brakes! but yea... im glad me and the mrs are ok too... i would have been very distraught if i had hurt her! What poor excuse? I've been in cars before that have lost it totally in the wet driving as sensible as possible. The worst lose I've ever had, I had the cruise on at about 70-80 in driving rain. It was getting really, really heavy and I had the stereo up loud, so I reached over to turn it off, and hit the overdrive button by accident. The car dropped back a gear and revved unusually high, was enough to kick the back of the car out. I ended up aquaplaning down this road, totally sideways and out of control, fortunately the car slid back into a more 'forwards' attitude and hooked up fairly quickly. It's lucky it was late at night and there was no traffic, or it wouldn't have just been my pants that got messed up. In the rain, you don't have to do anything wrong to lose it! Don't be so harsh!

can be especially slippery when it rains after there has been no rain for a while due to the built up of oil, dirt etc on the road.

It wuld appear that u didnt read my details properly, under 'location' it says NZ! (Auckland to be exact!) So it wuld appear that NZ roads are just as sh!t, if not worse that aussie's - Probly twice as sh!t actually! Oh and yea... those bloody trees, they jump out at ya wen u least expect it! yes, the cops can b c*nts (doesnt matter wat country)... but yes, they are well known for it in NZ! Jay

hey, you shouold be most worried bout the cops at the moment. u can fix ur car anytime. you loss ur licence and how hard is it to earn money with no job. if u haven't already given a statment which is unlikely just say a cat ran arcoss the road get ur gf to **** talk also. and yeh dont blame yourself. i reckon when it starts to dry up its even more dangerous than when its raining. all the oil comes out. either way hope all goes well. good luck with car it still looks mint.

Wel i know that i didnt make it up and my mrs knows i didnt make it up, so perhaps u shuld stop rambling about sh!t u know nothing about! Plus if i were making it up i would have said i swerved a dog or something wouldnt i?? - but i didnt! We will see what u say wen u write u car off - because what goes around comes around and by the sounds of it u think ur invincible! Jay

Cheers mate, yea it wasnt actually raining wen i had the accident, it had stopped half and hour or so before hand! i also find the 'cheaper roads' (some are made out of cheaper material and in a cheaper manner) are slipperier after it stops raining! it hadnt dried that much but... it is fcuken slippery at the best of times! e.g. wen i go to leave the drive and go down the road (the car is reversing up the hill) then the rear wheels loose traction almost everytime wen the road is wet!! Yea i was gonna use the cat excuse but at the time i wasnt thinking strait - i was gonna say my mrs's cat ran out, cos clearly i wouldnt have wanted to run that over - anyways the cops got statements of the neighbours before me anyway, so they probly already had their story before they even talked to me! hopefully i'll b able to apply for a work licence if it comes to that! if they fcuk me round then ill take em to court! Oh also, an update: the cops rang my house the other day and my brother answered the phone (cos i was at work) anyway they asked him which car i had actually crashed (i have to '87 VL's) so that show how 'professional' they are, they get called to an accident and don't even take down the number plate of the car that crashed! Fcuken dip Sh!ts! lata, Jay

Hey, Wel yea there are sh!tloads of accidents that the cops dun even kno about over here too! Apparantly they dont hav to b called if there isnt any private property damaged and if there isnt anyone injured! But thanx to that fcuk hole off duty pig - they did turn up!

UPDATE: i got the ticket and sh!t in the mail today - turns out that im not loosing my licence (which is some good news), however i have been charged with "driving in a manner likely to cause annoyance" What the fcuk is that?? u cant just make charges up!! So yea i have been fined $600 for that - my brother tried to out run the cops and only got a fine for "failing to stop for red and blue flashin lights" interestingly enuf it appears that that is safer than what i did - hence he only got fined $400! how the hell do u get that - go figure! Plus my driving record is a lot cleaner than what his was wen he got caught - i only have one speeding fine - he had had many and was about to loose his licence from demerit points! So yea... the next plan is to get a lawyer to write to the Police complaints department and explain all the crap they fcuked up etc etc. Cos obviously they have come to the conclusion to charge me with that from the statements of the neighbours and that fcuken cop - rather than listening to my statement - cos from my statement i dun see how they could charge me with that! Obviously they dun want my "boy racer" type car to be fixed and would rather that i pay for their donuts than my car's repairs! I'll keep ya'll posted, Jay

I'll keep ya'll posted, Jay Hey Jay, Just signed up to CalaisTurbo and have been hunting round the site. Very impressive. What was the end result with your ticket? Did you get off, or did the judge just do the usual "deaf ears" routine that most judges do when it comes to blokes under the age of 30 who drive anything other that a Corolla? Very interested as I also live in Auckland and have had my 3.0L Calais for a few years now, and have managed to survive unscathed, and ticket free *Touch Wood*. The worst I've gotten is when a cop saw me in Albany leaving a round-about crossed up, and he pulled a U-Turn and chased me and gave me a warning "these cars draw attention, try and limit the attention son". Beauty of a car by the way. Cheers Jono
