seeing that these shows always like to put us in a bad light how about people get together and arrange an interview with these reporters and get them to air the other side of our hobby. that way we can demonstrate we arent all wank@s who do have respect for the road, the law and other road users and how we as a whole also condone the actions of these people who chuck skids at ahhhhh.....inappropriate times.
i have also wondered why all these guys chuck skids in front of news cameras, now if this is true about those apparent "extreme vid" guys there is reason for concern and we should be more vigilant about them and spread the word to all who do not know this

06-06-04, 11:25 GMT+10#22 u guys might be loaded, but the common guy that races on the streets doesnt wanna fork out $50 to go race their car at calder, thats not exactly cheap and not much incentive to race legally.

06-06-04, 12:01 GMT+10#23 why race on the street?? the thing is theses type of drags is the cops will never get rid of no matter how much they try... what some of you dont understand is the fact that if someone gets killed at theses drags who knows what will happen every single person there will be up on a charge no matter what even if you didnt see it as you were there.
pay the $50 to go race at calder or other drag strips that are around its better then playing with people lives like that.. its p platers like thats that give other p platers a bad rep, thats why the cops are always giving you **** etc..
yes the cops do get things wrong at times but hey theya re human also just like you and i. They are out there doing there jobs to try and keep people safe and not have some guy who was doing over 150kms down a road that is about 500 meters in front of his car coz he was the stupid idiot that lost control of his car and ended up in a pole or something like that. I think alot dont see it like that as soon as your old enuff to understand the better but yes some of us when we were young did some stupid things but now when your young they will crack down on things like this.
You do learn from your mistakes but one day you will understand what it is like to loose someone who is close to you coz some ****head wants to race on the roads and not at a track.

hahaha I know these blokes - the guy that did the donut in the AU Falcon and said he'd go to hell hitting the nos into cop apparently got reamed hard (but not for the video footage, it was for something else I think) - however the guy on the motorbike never got named - 200 kph on one wheel, and then 298 kph on both wheels past the camera to show off for them as they were supposedly doing an extreme video. The cops apparently could not use the video as evidence due to Today Tonight having edited the video from the entirety of its recording.
298 kph on a motorbike is a stupid speed - you wouldnt want anything to go wrong at all at that speed or its all over for you.

Yeah he told me something about that guy in the AU doing a donut in the middle of an intersection, says his place got raided or something.

06-06-04, 21:10 GMT+10#28 where i was on saturday nite i thought someone was goin to get killed
there is a reason why at shows they make spectators stand back from where the skids are happenin it isnt because they dont want us to see its forthe safety of it
and well it was like people standing around a T intersection in a missive circle with room enuff for one car to drive thru at a time and JUST enuff room for a donut it was quit insane how some peoples minds think "the closer i get to the skids the better it is"
i stand far enuff back that if somethin does go wrong my car or myself get hurt
i think wat someone needs to do is just start a place for every day car to come do skids of a saturday nite like buy a massive piece of land somewhere out of the way put bitumen on it and charge say 10 bucks a car to get in and go nuts even if they have to sign a from sayin that they wont hold u responsible or somethin is the only way everyone will be happy cause cops wont be happy till we r off the road
and we like to see a nice smoke show and **** some times

The only people they put in a bad light are those idiots in the footage. Don't get involved in an interview, they would easily make you look bad.
Just ignore it otherwise they'll keep digging and get more bad footage on TV

Once every month on a Friday night they have burnouts at Archefield. Doesnt cost too much I think and its open to any registered car. I think people are just too damn lazy to do it legally. I reckon it would be heaps better doing nuts in front of a big crowd in safety. And they even have a bar and put on a wet t-shirt comp people are just waaaaaaay too lazy I thought tits would be a good enough incentive.
