nah HB toranas are the best, the most lightweight of them all, and they look ok. I found one ages ago, bought it to put a big engine in but left it out the front of the house for too long, and the council towed it away(nice story) Anyways I think a Sigma is a great idea, but get a Sigma wagon with porno red velour interior, ultimate sleeper.

Rob, I can't think of any sh!t to hang on you at the moment, so I'll offer some advice, and hopefully while I'm typing I'll come up with something. I dont know much about Sigma Turbos, BUT, the 2.6L Astron sounds like a sh!tty old TE Magna engine. It also sounds like it'll have bits thrown at it from a few different engines..? While it may make alright power, finding replacement parts such as gaskets might become a pain in the @$$. Then, if you need to service the sucker, who is going to have all the specs to adjust everything, ie tappets? Take this advice from someone who's done something similar, I had a freshly rebuilt engine, yet it managed to leak oil and blow smoke (no thanks to the dodgy engine builder who has thankfully now gone bust). My car weighed 900kg and was probably putting out 100kw or so at the wheels, yet was still good for 14.3 @ 98mph untuned while leaning out like a b!tch. A sigma turbo has potential, but, you'd need to fix the brakes and suspension, and probably look at rust, in order to make it less of a deathtrap. OK, I'll give you a run through of what you want. I'll try and hang sh!t here. First, you'll need to find a Sigma in GOOD condition. 2.6L Astron 2 motor (4G54) - GAY, by the time you rebuild the engine properly, you coulda bought a newer EFI engine and just slotted the sucker in. Forged Pistons with Chromoly rings (Low Compression) - GAY - Keep compression high Magna 4g54 EFI Head, Plennum, Fuel Rail - PLENUM HAS ONE 'N' Bigger Bosch injectors (yet to work out which model) - JUST GO 'BIG' Braided fuel lines - GAY - its a Sigma, not a show pony. Save your money Bigger Bosch fuel pump (yet to work out which model) - NO NO NO. Get a carter lift pump feeding a Surgetank, THEN, get a VLT pump from the surgie, for $50. Custom Cam - Who is gonna make it? Custom manifold - use the stock manifold - it'll do the job T3/T4 Hybrid - OLD technology - Get a GT30 Turbosmart Ultragate 35mm External Gate - GET A 45MM one.. they're bigger Custom exhaust from gate back - OK, Umm, No. Get a 4" Dump pipe, 3" exhaust ALL THE WAY, 1 muffler. A.R.E Intercooler - NO. Get a 2nd hand Evo / GTR cooler. They'll cope with your needs at 1/2 the price. Pollished 3" Cooler Piping - Yeh go polished, but f.uck the diameter off until you got it all ready to go. And POLISHED only has one 'L' Turbosmart Boost Controller (Dual Stage) - Go E-Boost as you know you're a riceboy at heart. Even if you do make riceboys look cool. Haltech ECU - why haltech?? I reckon you should just go and buy a Mazfix 13BT, get them to bolt the sucker in. You'll have way more fun than stuffing around building a turbo'd magna engine. MOST IMPORTANTLY, have you thught about who you can goto to design the 'SIKMA' stickers for the front and rear windscreens??

Yeh seriously, find people that have done the mods before and get their opinions. If you're doing it on a budget, you'll probably end up with a half-@ssed job. Going on the stuff you've mentioned, I'd be budgeting on 8k, and thats a realistic figure.

Yeah i've got a mate of mine who's done a similar thing... biggest problem he's had is the Borg Warner 35 box is a pile, it needs the 40 box toughened to hold up. And the thing seems to like chewing up axles. The other problem with it is, forgie kits for the 4G54 just plain don't exist...

haha, go to a Jap Importer, buy a 4G63/93, they'd be 'relatively' simple to bolt in, would have a HEAP more power in std form then any stocko 4g54 could ever wish for... All the good bits suchas turbos/plenums could then be bought later.

A 4G63 will go in, a 4G93 won't... i thought about an SR20 but it works out harder to do that than make the 4G54.

Seriously not too bad an idea I reckon. Geminis are heaps for little punks but Sigmas can get up and fly with a little work. Just don't go overboard with it like you did the Lexcen. Do the drivetrain and a basic interior and exterior, no colour changes etc. Try the sleeper look for a change BTW: what did you lose your licence for anyway, what happened?

Sounds more like an idea rather than a project you've had like a million "projects" and this sounds kinda ambitious for someone who's greatest achievement is ruining the interior of his car with white spray paint. *shrug*
