hav any of u guys that say use the twin cam head actually been in a twin cam headed vl before when making big hp u will still need bigger cams with a rough idle
and there will b no extra low down torque u forget that the rb25 is a rever its cams are not made for low down torque as the rb30 cams are
the rb30 will make the same power with less revs
and there is no way u will get 35% more power from a 25 head that is just an old myth lol
as for the rb26 head thats in its own league best by far u will get huge results with that
Have done the conversion, and the twincam head made 25% more pwer and 30% more torque at the same boost levels.
The stock RB25 cams worked fine, boost starting as low as 2000 rpm, reving it to 6500rpm. The increased low down torque was easily noticed.

I think Turbo ECUs came with Semi-sequential.

09-06-04, 09:23 GMT+10#24 Coolant temp sensor, Oxygen Sensor Throttle position sensor.. I believe are a direct fit. Airflow Meter should be neither here nor there, doubt the standard r33 pipes would suit vl, so custom pipes would have to be made up any way. and injectors..... ecu would have to be re maped to take full advantage of the twin cam head any way...

Nah Lee every man and there dog are doing that conversion at the moment. The EJ20 just bolts straight in, the only thing you have to do is put the VL engine mounts on it

29-07-04, 13:52 GMT+10#28 so basically go the RB25 head on the RB30 for a 10 sec pass with better fuel consumptions etc.. hmm 10 secs would probably lwead to a****loads of fuel ay?

Lol...
Since when is some one worried about fuel consumption when running down the 1/4.
Its general driving to and from shops, to work etc this is where the better fuel consumption is appreciated.
It also allows better drivability as you don't need to run big cams as you do in the RB30's to make the power/rev's.
With the twin cam head you don't need to run as much boost to make the power as a SOHC head. Lower boost = a longer lasting engine.
Its not really a good bang for buck thing but if you want better fuel consumption, a nicer drive and some thing that performs like a SOHC with big cams in it then go the twin cam head.
If you are only after a mild 200 or so rwkw then stick with the SOHC head.

05-08-04, 04:50 GMT+10#30 so, roughly how much would it cost to do this??
also, how much would it cost to do with an rb26 head??

Buy a RB30ET work it with the SOHC! It will be original looking and still you can get easy 11 & 10 sec time's...
Damn fcking right Rubes!!!
When you lift up the bonnet there'd better be an RB30ET under there... if not, your VL is a traitor and it'll all be your fault. They'll probably deport you.
Leave the RB25's for the Skyline boys and their cousins.
