Yeah If I have to leave my car somewhere sus I just take the lead that runs from the coil to the distributer with me. It's only a short lead. And they aint going no where unless they have a lead on them. actually they could just use one of the others and drive home with 5 cylinders. Never thought of that till now.

Nothing will ever stop a determined thief. Not a tracker, kill switch, immobiliser, alarm, pager, club lock, removing the steering wheel, etc etc.... just accept that and have your car fully insured and be as careful as possible.

Removable 'Grants' brand steering wheels have been available for years

My younger brother and I went clubbing on Saturday night, and he had his new phone out. When some bloke comes up to him and goes, "You got one of those photo phones, mate?" my bro said yeah, the bloke asks whether he has any pics on it. My brother showed him a pic of his new racing quad, and the bloke asks who's VL Calais is that in the back ground. (Mine). And then he starts with "So where abouts do you live?" WTF????, then he says again "Yeah which road do live down?". It seems some would be thieves aren't horribly bright, or subtle. hehe Dumbass!!

a serious thief wil figure out stuff like kill switches but if u only got an exec or a stock berlina a well placed kill switch should do the trick, and taking the ignition fuse would definitely do the trick too. once a thier tried to steal my car, the alarm wasnt on, he tried to unscrew the key barrel by putting one screwdriver in the key hole and another between the first and the little knob u use to turn the key but he broke the cover, the cover turned and he couldnt fit anything in the hole, he pretty much left it after that. it is luck that i still have my car, right now i have an immobilizer with one of the brightest blue lights ever, it keeps the general thiefs away pshhht, i would hav ***in lost it at that guy 4 asking wot he did! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

This would of been me; Dumbass: Nice Vl u got there. Me: yeah u wanna know whos that car is mate?! Dumbass: yeah mate it looks real nice hey? Me: yer it does doesnt it mate? Dumbass: Yeah so which road do u live down? Me: Ill tell u where i live after i run u over in it mother ****er. lol i hate people who think they can swipe other peoples rides.

Taking the rotor button out is too much trouble cause the dizzy cap is held down with a bolt. When I used to park my car at school I took the main ignition lead and left it in my bag and if I had time I took the ignition fuse. When you seriously think about it if your alarms going off and someones trying to nick your car if you have enough things to slow them down eventually they will give up (unless they are really determined). So the best way is the think of every possible procedure to slow them down and do them all if you have to park in a risky situation. And have steering wheel locks and stuff that the potential theif can see to deter them.

my bro installs quik tracks, he puts em on tractors and all kids of stuff(auto elect) he recons that if you park it under a shed it cant be tracked-so for one of the most fool proof devices theres a pretty easy way of getting around it

Seriously though, if they've gone to the effort of getting into your car I'm sure they can go to the effort of stealing a lead from a plug and putting it on the coil. If thats what your referring to when you say taking an ignition lead.
