Oh yer about the brown sludgy crap in the radiator. I had that in mine for quite some time as it had never really been maintained for its 10yr life in Jap land. My overflow bottle is stained with it. At first I thought some one had used Chemi-weld in the car as it looked the same. A few coolant changes had the sludge keep coming back. I eventually used some Mukout HD acid based cleaner. Don't smell that stuff it smells like Hcl. Works well got rid of the brown crap, now the coolant is perfectly green. As long as there isn't white in the oil or water out the exhaust you will be fine.

I've always ran NGK plugs, thats what all the tuners in SA have recommended to me also. With the NGK range the lower the number the hotter the plug (std RB20DET plugs have a heat range of 5. I'm running 1 step cooler - 6. The mate of mine who makes 290rwkw is now running 8's, at 250rwkw he was running 7's. The 4valve head allows you to run a slightly hotter plug which prevents the plug fouling as it can burn off sh*t that sticks to the plug, as does the 4 valve head allow you to run a higher static comp. 8's are way to cool I would think unless you were pushing well in to the mid 200's at the rear wheels. maybe that is your problem... Hopefully it is. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The Twincam head has a chamber volume of around 62-64cc's, with the rb25de pistons that gives you a comp ratio of 10.5:1. the SOHC head has a smaller chamber volume of around 53 or so cc's (correct me i can't remember 100%), so that would make the comp up around 11.5:1 with the Rb25DE pistons/SOHC head. Too high for turbs. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
