you should also use an anti-static wipe after sanding and before spraying of plastics.
can be bought for about $25 and is a must if u want to do it right
hey just read this thread ill be painting my new front bumber and group a grill in spring...acually ill be spraying the whole bottom half of the car(asteroid silver purple tinge) i have a few questions...from what i have read here it seems you get a good enough job with a 600-800 rub back and just spray two pack with flexiaid mixed in? will this turn out well? dads got a huge comppresser so that wont be a problem. and im just wondering what colour to paint the grill white or silver?????..the car it 2 tone silver bottom white top. pictures and opions would be great thanks!

if its bare plastic you have to clean it first with plastic cleaner, then you have to plastic prime it, if its a soft flexible plastic you have to put flex aid in it if its not and its like the vl bars then you dont need the flex aid, so clean, prime then paint your base then 2 coats of clear!

some tips would be handy!
a 2hp compressor will be ****, i tryed that, always playing catch up, never enough airsupply, try using a 2.5 hp with a 40 litre tank, ill work, acrylic its best to thin 2:1 2 been thinners and 1 been paint but i find it to runny so 1.5 thinners to 1 part paint is quite alright, this is for acrylic too
