I agree, but, Turbo powered cars dont seem to be acurate when it comes to comparing 1/4 runs to "speed calculators" . I dont know why this is though, I believe it has to do with the engines ability to accelerate under load (you can have 2 motors both making the same power and trq, but one will literally accelerate faster under load, you can pick it up with a manually operated enine dyno but not in the figures so much). I'm not helping am I...... A mate of a mates car was an example of this, but I think I have told you guys before about it? a drag valiant charger with a 265 hemi turbo ? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Well if you remebers when Nizpro did Ben's VL, they were using the SOHC Head which has much smaller combustion chambers, i will be using the RB26 head which will reduce cylinder pressures measurably, about GTR-700 where has it ever made more than 500kw at the wheels or even been on an engine dyno?? Like ive said before as far as i know there has never been an RB30 with and RB26 head along with a billet crank, girdle and sump done and pushed as hard as i plan to push it. Alot of the block issues come from the harmonic imbalance the RB30 has which twists the block and hence splits it. Guys I know im pushing the boundaries here but i live by the saying "reach for the stars, and if you end up on the roof your still higher then where you started". Im just sick of people saying that is you want big HP you have to go Jap when i know most of the Jap stuff is rebaged US or Aussie stuff Jordan

Good luck. I like your logic. Do it man, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If it doesn't do what you think it will, there are ways around everything. Just depends which way you go.

Well the power runs will be on an engine dyno which will show corrected Power, Torque and Boost readings. As far as im concerned your just kidding yourself trying top run up more than 800hp on a chassis dyno and i dont know how Summernats Horsepower Heroes do it either Jordan

Do it man, Good Luck. I doubt anyone is going to buy your bottom end kit untill your R&D is done (if then), save your time and energy for the dyno. What comp ratio are you going to use? are you going to use "block filler" ? to what level ?

Compression ratio will be around 8.5:1 and we will start without block filler and go from there Jordan

The differences between the rb25 / 26 block is there is horizontal cast in ridges on the outside of the block.

Well guys the block that i was originally going to use when i was 'only' after 1000hp has already been fitted by my engine builder and after all the mucking around he said that it is just as good to have the rod drilled and also coat the piston crown. My new block wont have them since the stroker crank wont clear them unless i decide to stay 3,000cc but either way i will be going back to a 86.5mm bore rather than the originally planned 87.5mm Jordan

rods drilled as in rifle drilling? got a quote from cunningham the other week of $180US a rod for 4340 and $20US to rifle drill them so $200US a rod (normal price) Titanium rods where $450US a rod!!

Are cunningham any good? Jordan

Yes they are very good for their price. the guy who runs it has very good knowledge of materials and mechanics.

It wasnt a what does that do, more a "for drag racing it wouldnt be neccesary"...... type of why, lol

Thats true, chassis dyno's are pretty iffy compared to an engine dyno, and then even the real engine dyno paints a different picture to the track time. I guess chassis dynos are a simple way to get an estimate of engine power.
