06-03-05, 14:24 GMT+10#22 Um, hi 11's with 200rwkw in a vl????
Ah, ok, maybe with no interior, lexan windows, fiberglass pannels and alot of faith....
Or, if u really want 11's, buy a datto 1600 with 200rwkw, you'll get there alot easier.

06-03-05, 20:40 GMT+10#23 if you read closer he never said it was a VL. all he said is 'a car' with 200rwkw could do 11 sec.

06-03-05, 20:48 GMT+10#24 DONT ASK : you have no idea, go back to playing with your toy cars.
rwkw means **** all as to what a car will run down the track, rwkw is just the cars maximum power output on a dyno. and also my last car had 200rwkw and pulled a 12.1@111mph with traction loss, full interior, and all calais options. like i said its all in the setup the car has running, how fast it gets to this MPH not how much power the car can over all make.

07-03-05, 21:35 GMT+10#25 Mmmm, ok yeah i'll go back and play with my toy cars then FLWLSS, cause u know everthing and i dont know sh it.
The way u word stuff is unclear and i just assumed that since we are on a 'vl' forum, and u were explaing how to get a 'vl' 2 run 11's, that you'd be refeering 2 a 'vl'.
My appoligies if i mis-understood u...
Anyway, now that i've cleared that up, i agree that rwkw is just a figure on a dyno sheet that is really only for bragging rights, or in some cases, it's actually used for on-going tuning purposes (but mostly bragging rights; re. to peoples sig.).
My view is prob. pretty similar to yours, although i'd word it a bit different, or clearer:
"horsepower sells cars, torque wins races"
A car with a nice even torque spred IMO will always cross the line quicker than one with a high peaky power figure that can only start to move over 4500rpm, especially on the street, and it will be a sh it load more fun to drive either way.
Of course, there are many cotributing factors as to why each car runs a certain time, not just power/torque. Thing like drivers skill, weather condition, track condition, weather u had a toss the nite b4 (jokes), etc etc.
Cool, well im off 2 play with my toys.

Generally in a good combo the torque figure is consistant with the power output. That doesnt mean to say that a car with stock suspension and 205/65/15s is going to beat the same car with 90/10s and runners in the front, and 30/70s with 255/65/15s in the ass. Torque is only the pulling power, if you cant put it all to the ground youve already lost. Other than that you seem on the ball.
PS: If you got a car that can spread out the power onto the track with perfectly setup suspension the driver doesnt need to feather on loss of traction and he doesnt need to hook it from left to right to keep it in a straight line, and the driver also doesnt need to have a 400 RT considering all street application isnt simultaneus launch, and most faster cars still run tails up and dial-in/break out etc.
good day, or night, which ever it is while anybody reads this

09-03-05, 06:27 GMT+10#28 3" with custom dump for 700? I already had 3" dump, and I wanted rest of the system 3" with hi-flow cat... cheapest i could find was 750 for that, so i went with it.
Good thread, will help alot of us out

09-03-05, 16:49 GMT+10#30 flwlss, maybe gtr injectors as a cheaper alternative to the ones you mentioned? they've been proven to run well with high horsepower cars...

Just look at Eddie Tassone's car.. 1500hp, does 8.1sec
Should do much better than that given that kind of hp, but traction is a problem... where as cars like Pannic running 550 - 600rwkw manage 8's with a much smaller power output...
That is what FLWLSS is saying, its about how efficently your car can produce its peak power and also about how the car is set up Pannic being setup perfectly for strip use, where as tassone's car is mainly set up to be straped to a dyno.... its not about its overall power rating...
on another note, A local exhaust place down the road from me called "hannam st mufflers" quoted me $500 for a 3inch turbo back mandrel bent mild steel exhaust, this was retaining my cat, but modifying it for 3in pipe (i know thats dodgey, but it works and for $500.. whos complaining?)
I dont intend to run mufflers in my exhaust. I don't see the need.. a VL Turbo isn't exactly a loud car...

13-05-05, 19:02 GMT+10#38 Use dont have to take my list and throw everything in ive written down this is just a list to give use an example as to what you need and prices, from there you can build your own combo, im just recommending you a list on a cheap way to get some quick times and a descent setup that should last and produce what you are after.
