if i had the cash id be going for the twin turbo 1jz soarer. i was driving my friends 2day and its pretty quick. i've been on a lexus/toyota soarer cruise and there were many v8's there. the v8s sound absolutely awsom, but the six's were quicker. it depends what u want sound of a v8 or six TT. either way id be going the soarer easy
mate, if i had that kind of money to throw around, id go the soarer, import it yourself, and i think its cheaper or something, but either way, you can get an aftermarket 5spd manual put in, then you get everything you want! luxury, V8, and manual. cant go wrong eh?
get the vr, slap a blower on the side and say hi to some real power
v8s dont drink much, i get 400ks out of mine with ease

Hey, yeah i have a similar deleima to you mate, have you checked these sites
http://www.alsc.aus.as/
and www.planetsoarer.com (http://www.planetsoarer.com) might be a .au cant remember.
their is heap and heaps of info about the soarer and their are alot of site out their that will take you though step by step installing and removing and changing things, like www.reepa.com (http://www.reepa.com) this site is has a lot of tutorials with pics on how to fix and replace things etc. Spend some time reading and researching the soarer and you will find that it is a better car in pretty much everyway, the downs are insurance andof couse being an import parts arnt as cheap as the VR and will cost you a fair bit more. But once you get in one and sit down and take it for a spin i doubt you will look back, i mean features wise, its amazing, leather, memory seat, full electrics, touch screen monitor the list gose on. Ive probally said enough....
Good luck with whatever you decide,
Timmy
go the soarer!
they look awesome wit a kit on them
and go the 1jz not the 1uz
if u were really keen then swap the 1jz for the 2jz
they bolt straight in
bolt a big turbo onto the 1jz n say hello to 300rwkw+

spend the extra $$$ and go for a manual 1JZ soarer. the autos have a lot of cut-outs and self-protection hurdles for you to get over if you wind up the boost a bit, and the engine computer is integrated with the transmission computer---which makes it hard to get aftermarket management... go for the manual and youll have one monster of a car once you start to boost it up a bit. with only some nice wheels and lowered a bit they look pretty nice too.
