Another if your not looking for a race box is the s15 silvia. I was told it is the same/similar to a GTR box without the transfer case (same gear sets/strength). If it were possible to swap the front case of an s15 box with a GTR box it would bolt straight on! Just something to look into. Whats wrong with the crusing revs with 4.11 gears anyway, it's just under 2700rpm @ 100kmh. Thats just right for the RB30!!! And yeah unless u fit a t56 u'll probably end up with 3.45 gears, with a 1:1 5th, 6th gear will be around the same ratio as 5th gear in a 5spd box. U'll just beable to keep the engne in that sweet zone better Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The 6spd. getrag that came out of the R34 GTR Vspec was an alright tranny, but was not GTR's best. If you are looking for the best I would look into the R33 GTR 5spd. tranny. It is the strongest out of the family. I know of a guy out in Kansas (USA) that just dynoed his R33 and the tranny held up to 890HP until it blew out. The guy said the transfer case was what gave out, so imagine how much HP you could get if you where to use it on a RWD car and block out the transfer case.

the s15 silvia box is probably the cheapest option. Thats if it fits without too much modification. Don't know how strong they are but.

i heard the S15 boxes wernt real strong at all, more like the RB20/ NAVL boxes. Not saying youre wrong twinvl, just what i heard. i hope you are right, it would make it a simple swap into a vl! Anyone else got any info on em?

Well a SR20 is only 2L like a RB20 but it does produce more torque.

Yeah it's just what i was told too... But i questioned it cos it's only for a 2l. And the answer was nissan only make one 6 speed, so they use it for everything. I don't know but it would be good to find out!!
