fastest i've ever got my n/a auto up to was 195, i think it may have had another 10-15 km/h in it, but not much after that.
john, that's a pretty sweet 0-100 time, are you in third when you hit 100 there? or still second? i've never driven a manual VL so i want to know how the early gearing is.
doesn't he have an auto?
in a manual you'd be holding it to about 120 before it hits the limiter, if its breathing properly. not making much power towards the top of the band though... unless you've got a charger strapped but thats another story.
In actual fact an auto n/a can hit 200 with ease, completely stock my mate was doing 195 with 4 people in the car a full tank of petty on a very hot day
and a full tank of fuel
i don't think how much weight its carrying would effect it too much, get a bit of wind behind ya on a slight downslope and you'd carve it in.
mates dads nugget ute got up to 160 cause of the wind behind us.

The Davemobile (NA auto) does 0-100 kph in 6.8 - 7.2 Sec. from a rolling start.

That sound about right to you blokes? She's a little unsteady at idle, which makes me think it might be time to get the injectors cleaned & checked, but otherwise all good.
:-)
this thread is a year old.
also how can you do 0-100 km/h FROM A ROLLING START YOU IDIOT. THAT'S THE WHOLE DEFINITION OF ZERO KILOMETERS AN HOUR, IT'S THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF MOVING AT SPEED ARGHHGHAH sorry just felt like a flaming
this site should be called "calais laugh at everyone else turbo style"
ive got an efi 5litre in my vl now but it did have a very very healthy 304 carby engine.
it had standard headers, 2 1/2'' exaust, gas heads and as i said the motor was very healthy and very quick for a stocker. i did 0 to 100 using my mate and his phone as a stop watch and got there in about 8.5 seconds on average.
i have a book here which tells me a bit about the walkys with there twin throttles and such and they did the 0-100kph in 7.2 give or take a few 10ths of a second.
now if they do 0-100 in that time i dont understand why they would design and fabricate the twin throttles when apparantly the N/A with an exaust system, some cold air and a bigger throttle bodie ranges from like 7 seconds to 10? and EEVIL does it in 4-5 seconds with a cooler and 10 pounds.
correct me if im wrong but im lost
Extractors, 2.5 inch exhaust, cold air intake with MAF screens removed, advanced timming.
Sat on the brake got the revs up and started stopwatch. BEst i ever got was a 8.2 secs. Feels like it takes forever. Got the SS to 0=100km/h in 5.01 still reckon could have done better if my mate hadn't been timing it.
Rolling start LOL thats funny as.
Hahahha...
My Car has done 295,000km. All it has is a cat back exhuast. Im not sure what it does exactly for a 0-100.
However at my recent run at willowbank my 660ft was 10.64 & 107.5km/hr. So no doubt it will be around 8-9 seconds based on that information. I'm going again this week to better it, so we'll see then.
hehehe rolling starts an interesting way to get your time down, to bad 0 means 0 as in not moving.....
Anyway
My VL calais 5 speed - Genie extractors, highflow cat, 2 1/2in system, K&N Air filter.
0-100 9.8-10.1 average with a fair ammount of clutch slip(Its ****ed) using a G-Tech
I have had it up to 195 once,, not really into high speed accidents though so i backed off... My brother though... he borrowed the car, he took it past 200kph apparently the needle kept going around a inch or so past 200 then sat there stuck as the car continued to gain speed...
My VT SS 5.7 6 speed - Completly stock except the resonator has been removed to give it a nicer note.
0-100 6.2-6.4 with loads of traction loss
1/4 mile time - 14.4-14.6 once again with traction loss
My VN 5 speed 3.8l wagon with the newly blown engine (still runs slightly)
0-100 20-30 seconds on the back of a flatbed truck it would have been on par with the VL pulled harder down low

my mate and I were running a pair late at night in about 8 degree air temps. We both have cold air kits fitted and ran anywhere from 8.3 in one to 8.9 in the other. One of them has 415000 ks on the clock, the other has done about 130000 K's. Also the quicker of the cars had next to no fuel in it when it ran the 8.3. It was also manually shifted. Also we could only manage a 9 in a VR.
as Calais.87 said, I ran an 8.9, 0-100.
I had my brother in the passenger seat with a stopwatch and I just said, Start and Stop when necessary.
Im happy with that.
