Better throttle response, better economy and generally stronger through the rev range.

I have always used Optimax in my car since I got the new fuel pump... With Optimax, the car does seem to run a lot smoother and I get between 500 - 560 to a tank, depending on how I drive it... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

On highway driving I get 630k's (or 10Lt/100L's) to a tank. However my engine, gearbox, turbo etc has been rebuilt, injectors cleaned and flow tested and I ALWAYS run it on Shell Optimax.

i find optimax makes my vl v8 perform nicer, but the mobil synenergy 8000 is the go. Car is noticable quicker, responds and revs much harder. i didn't really notice any saving of petrol, but thats probably cause i have carby and the way i drive but i recommend u try the synenergy 8000. Not all mobile servos have it.....some are labelled premium unleaded, you want the ones that are labelled synenergy 8000!! at first i thought it was in my mind, until my friend put the 2 different fuels in his bike and said that the synenergy made his bike rev and respond heapz better as well!

I Agree with you mrkrinkle. My car runs nice & smooth on synergy8000, but Optimax it runs rougher I've noticed Shell is a company that is affiliated with a company that I slave my ass off for day in/day out... I normally use synergy8000, but if I can't get to Mobil servo that has it and I'm low on fuel... Optimax is my next option P.S. Welcome to the forum mrkrinkle, hope you enjoy the atmosphere Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ok guys, I have the r31 skyline with n/a rb30. The car goes best on BP regular unleaded. I have tried putting in ultimate at a number of servos but the car feels sluggy, less responsive and fuel economy is not as good, why??

I found when my old RB30E was in reasonable nick with good injectors, etc the motor ran smoother with Optimax as compared with any other fuels, actually all our cars run smoother (i.e. a VL,VN & VX Commodore). At the moment however,my RB30DE sometimes pings even when I run Optimax,it runs a 10.5:1 compression ratio which the RB25DE also does,I have heard the R33 computer which I run has 2 different fuel maps, one for low octane and one for high octane,I am just wondering what the Japs class as low & high octane as I think their standard is 100. Someone else on this site told me I should use a different PULP like Synergy 8000 or BP ulitmate as he reckoned that Optimax had a shorter shelf life than other fuels, can anyone back this theory up?

yeah i will when i completely fill it with optimax. the car goes really well as is anyway (S/C VX Calais) so probably wouldnt be the one to pic any difference. lol oh and its got an LSD woo hoo! haha
