If you have to get a RWC for a rego change over ask the roady guys if they can hold the car for the 30 days(only if you know em) after the rego is done, then there covered as well you have rego!!!!!!

If I've got it right you are irresponsible and have a wierd set of priorities and neither you nor your car should be on the road. If you do find said dodgy inspector, I don't want to be anywhere near you if you put your foot down on a wet road.
And I hope the lack of an engineer's certificate for the RB25 is not because the conversion has been done so badly that no engineer in his right mind will certify it.
He's got them replaced - The tyres.. I thought

Remember we have someone on these forums whose claim to fame is that his nearly bald tyres are somehow better than those on new cars. He claims a shorter braking distance than many new cars.

Not as silly as it sounds. Look at racers in classes where they have to use standard production tyres; they buff the tyres until they're nearly bald. You get less "squirming" through shorter tread blocks.
That's on dry roads. On wet roads of course it's a different story... AFAIK that's the only reason tyres have treads at all; to sluice away water on wet roads.

that's what I thought, I always imagined a tyre with all of it's surface in contact with the road would be more grippy.

The person who does the roadworthy can have their license for doing roadworthies taken off them if they are found out, not good!!!
I stress DONT GET DODGY ROADWORTHIES, apart from the car being unsafe to drive it can also cause worn parts to wear more and damage other parts that might be in good condition.
Well what kind of retard will get a dodgey roady to sell a car, that is a big NO, NO. If the buyer complains the tester can get a big fine and lose his license.
Selling cars only get legit RWC done.
I use dodgey RWC to get rid of bull**** police canary items such as gauges, intercoolers, wheels so on. Less hassles leave all the gear on and keep on driveing. I'm more concerned about EPA these days.
