I agree with the above two posts. I guess I'm just ftrom the old school of havin a go myself, and getting the satisfaction of building. Shop around and you will find everything you need. One place to look for second hand microtechs could be Dalton Automotive, seeing as though they're a dealer, they may have second had ones also, maybe an autronic or motec dealer will have one they have taken out of car? The quotes I gave, I stand by, and I stand by my power estimates. In my old VLT i made 193rwkws and spent a total of approx $3400 which included exhaust, intercooler, extra injector, catch can, clutch, boost controller, and still retained the standard comp, turbo, and injectors. get in and have a go yourself.

Yeah thats cool, i wasnt doubting your thoughts.. just sounded pretty full on.. Im going to talk to a few "shops" first.. find out exactly what they would do.. then i might talk to them about doing it my own way and buying parts seperatley.. see what they think.. then i guess i'll just have to scour the forums and the trady.. see what happens. Thanks for everyone's input, i've been enlightened. lol PS: Sin: I am using "Avant Browser", which uses IE6 xp.. it includes a popup killer in it.. i dunno if thats why i cant see the banner.. i doubt it, i'll have a look see in the options.. maybe something is turned off... Cheers.

Called up Dennis at P.E.T Modifications today.. spoke to him about what i can do with a lazy $6000 and dennis was very helpful and advised me how to go about it.. asking me where i wanted to go with the power, whats the purpose of the car etc etc.. anyway.. here's the low down.. Fmic - 600x300x75mm $1750 (he said its basically a GTR core.. this size is used on there 9 second cars) Microtech - $1680 drive in and out. GT35 700hp with Internal wastegate and adapter roughly $2600 plus fitting $400-600 .. (he wasnt sure on the "exact" price, said maybe a little less than that.) New custom clutch $750 Malpassi fuel reg and boost set to "hi, lo switch in cabin" oh and he said he'll throw in a catch can as a bonus according to the style i want and where etc etc. So, all up, tuned/dyno'd, everything fitted, some refabricated parts ie: dump pipe, manifold, and something else, all up he said about ... $7100 drive in, drive out.. (will be a little less depending how much the GT35 actually is.) Apparently this setup should run 220 - 240 rwk's.. on about 14psi i think.. This is also on stock injectors and fuel pump, cam etc etc.. everything basically stock. i suppose later on if i change the injectors and go with a larger fuel pump i can up the boost some more.. So this sounds ALOT more promising than some "other" companies.. Does anyone have a problem with this or any opinions? Cheers. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Sound's like a good package for the price, and it's a good thing you decided to consider your clutch for an upgrade, although it does sound a little cheap at $750.

Yeah Methz.. i understand what you mean.. this time i am doing it right the first time. lol. Inflyt.. Yeah i think the "price is right" lol.. for all the work.. its gonna take a good week and a half, 2 weeks max dennis said.. drive in, drive out.. perfect for me. But your saying the clutch price is a little cheap? I dont knoiw what he meant by custom clutch.. he never said a brand perse.. i expected to here centreforce or daikin but yeah, just said custom.. obviously he knows what clutch can handle that sorta power... i will ask him more about it when PET start up again after chrissy. I've opted for the "internal wastegate" for legality purpose if anyone was wondering.. its a little more expensive considering the GT35 doesnt come out with an internal gate.. only external.. thus, an adapter has to be fitted. Can some one tell me why you would fit an external wastegate and make your setup illegal than just pay a little more and go the internal gate? Is there a performance benefit to be had? or is it a noise thing? lol Cheers

ehehe... I like this thread . A couple of points for you: My mate has a vlt very similar to mine, he has a centreforce clutch in it which is starting to slip after about 16 pouds. My clutch (cushion button - which i sourced from adelaide clutch services) is happily holding 20psi with no sign of slippage (yet). I can't tell you how many horses this is because i don't know. Read some info and prices here: http://www.ozperformance.net/forum/s...la ide+clutch (http://www.ozperformance.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8099&page=2&pp=30&highlight=adelaide+clutch) Just for your interest, here's my car's setup: DIY cold air intake - $20 Self install AVO stage II FMIC - $700 (bought here) Clutch - $700 (including install) 3" exhaust - $500 (don't expect it that cheap :P) 036 injectors - $1000 self install autronic ECU +bits - $expensive T3/T4 ATS turbo - $1200 Head Porting - $700 Sh!t i just realised this has gone a little bit over my insurance limit. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
