CAI = Cold Air Intake..
My 2nd VL, had a proven 97 RWKW..
RB30E
Manual
Crane Cam (sounded like a V8)
Chiptorque Chip
Geine Headders - 2.5" straight through
mild port/polish
CAI (O2Rush filter in original box, then 3" PVC pipe straight down into the brake duct of a GroupA front bar! - worked wonders!)
It was a FORMULA though, so i think its the extra stickers that really did it!

it's interesting to read how a lot of you with N/A's are trying to break that 100rwkw barrier with limited mods, and here are us turbo guys trying to break the 200 rwkws spending as little as possible.
The thing is, with 200rwkws, we do 12.8 1/4's and you do 14.8's

My R31 skyline is pulling 188.4hp atw (ie 140kw atw) and 940lbs of torque from a NA RB30.

make that 15.8 , very very few n/a's have done a 14 , even with a lot of money spent on em.
i have seen the proof of carcrazy's vs commo beating n/a , seen the dyno printouts , seen the dyno and operator at work etc too , his car is one mean n/a hehehehehe

well my car was dynoed at CSV, and i saw a HSV VY clubbie's results that were still on the screem, it pulled 170rwkw in standard trim. Peter Dichera said that his dyno apparently reads lower than most.. dunno if thats the case, i'll get a 2nd one soon.
I had 3 power runs, first 94, snd 92 (car getting hot) so we let it sit for 10 mins with the fan on it, then it reeled off 96.

i got two runs, first at 90 something hp, new plugs and leads and it jumped to 117 or somethinh like that.. hp that is.
with absolutely no engine mods.
hugofirst i reckon yours should have been churning out more then that with those mods.
meh, turbo conversion anyway.

According to ChipTorque (http://www.chiptorque.com) ijd, you should get guaranteed 94RWkw on your N/A VL, with their "Performance Chip, Cam, Exhaust & Extractors" package.
That's an 18kW gain at the wheels. Probably lookin' at over a grand for it but...
And yeah, 87vl.. the mechanic is right - the N/A VL's were only 76RWkw from the factory.
Kingyvl - you should be gettin' round the 110kw at the rears since the turbo conversion. Especially at 7psi.

That chip torque is for an Auto, i think the manuals would make a lot more power. I feel the Jatco autos steal a lot of power.
Mines a 5 speed.

I think its the auto's grearing that lets it down.
A big phat wad of torque with turbo's conpenstates that problem.

I did this on my friend's brand new Dyno Dynamics Dyno in Shootout mode, the engine is completely stock, has no exhaust enhancements, chips, cams etc. I beat a VS Series two V6 buy 7kws too.
Ive got a little performance enhancing device going in soon.
Specs are:
Nizmo cam
Fully ported & polished head
Performance valve springs
Hepolite pistons
Fully balanced
Port matched manifold
Fully balanced
450hp highflow turbo.
It will be backed by a MX7 turbo engine & a four pinnion LSD diff also waiting in the wings.

Shootout mode is known to read higher figures than normal DD modes. Don't know why, but people always commenting about it.
Cheers,

We ran normal and shoot out mode and it read exactly the same, shootout mode just has more features and allows overmapping and comparisons.
Im hoping for about 260kws @ wheels when its intercooled and run in, a friend has 315kws but he is running an autronic.
