as far as i'm concerned - they should have cops with speed cameras sitting in dangerous areas around the city, and PULL OVER people doing any dangerous speeds or changing lanes without looking (i've seen 3 major accidents because of that).. other things to think about are taxi drivers - some are chumps, but some are actually good people and if they loose their licence lose their income and jobs... its easy to say dont speed, but if you are on the road all day every day, its easy to creep over the speed limit by 3 Km/hr!!

damn right its easy to creep over by 3.. sometimes even 10-15. I know I deserved to lose my licence for speeding. And I've learnt my lesson. For now.

I personally hate these ****ing things. I mentioned to a mate we should go around putting garbage bags over them. He went one better and reckons spray paint the front glass, so next time we're bored that's our mission. Don't vote for labour - they're ****ing scum.

lol. Ages ago in The Sydney Morning Herald. I think? A bloke in England got caught speeding by a camera. When he realised he came back to the camera and cut it down with a saw of some sort. He did it in broad daylight and there were witnesses around that saw him. He did get caught and i imagine he would have been in a lot of ****.

I also hear what your saying DVS 86, but where I live, if you speed your going to get caught. Speed cameras do slow people down. Doesn't mean that I think they are good, I can't stand the things. I was caught on a speed camera 3 years ago on a highway doing 80kph over the set limit. There were no other cars on the highway at the time and it was a nice flat open stretch, so I went for it. They just so happened to have a camera set-up just behind a bank where I decided to put my foot down. It wasn't like I was doing 180kph the whole length of the free-way.

You can get booked for running through the amber light, my bro was driving my car and was booked for it. But the thing was that a 2000 model corolla also ran it and the cop only came after the VL. It was a $227 fine and 2 points. But the fine is still being appealed.

Yeah that'd be farckin typical of the coppers come after the vl driver. Similar thing happened to me where i live as i was pulling out of a Autobarn carpark cos it was the less busier end of the road to exit on and there were cars coming and going in all directions so i didnt want to wait around all day. And also there were P-platers caning their hotrods all day out of intersections in the imediate area and the ****s decide to come after me, cos i decided to exit out of the car park a little too quick and managed to get up to 79km/h instead of 60. Not that im saying i should of done it i know it was stupid and i was taking my temper out on the car. But it just shows the coppers hav somethin against vl's and P-platers. Good luck with ya bro's court case sam30L.

Yeah and also in the country its easy to fall asleep behind the wheel after a long drive if you don't take breaks. So even doing the right speed you may end up in a head on colision. Could you imagine a speed camera every few km in the country esp when they cost 1/4 million dollars? Red light cameras pee me off too because they just make me nervous as all hell! It scares me that I have to look at the speedo while somehow look at the road in order to make sure I am doing the 'right speed.' I guess thats life... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

97% of road deaths are not in the country... You basically saying 87.5436% of all satistics are made up on the spot. If 97% of all road deaths happen in victoria, then the total deaths in the city would be able 12. Based on victoria annual road toll being 400. Yes there are many deaths inthe country, however u have too look a a few things, Speed, many country roads are 100km/h. Many of these roads i would not even think about doing 60km/h on. Because they are **** quality roads. And also, when u talk about getting booked doing 4km or 6km over the limit... u are forgetting that 3km/h is automatically removed from your alleged speed. So infact you are doing 7km/h or 9km/h over the limit. if u run a red light, u deserve to cop the $200 fine. If u speed and are caught, u deserve to pay the fines. use your cruise control guys, even in 60km/h zones, this has saved my license many times. if u dont have c/c spend $200 on an aftermarket one. That's my 2 cents.
