Im fucn speechless with the un-informed bullsh1t comments by some people. I have driven a SC old MR2 before and I have raced a std mid 90's MR2 and they DO NOT handle well, if you think they do, get another hobby / interest coz cars arent your strong point. and DR00, you make me laugh (not with you) you dont need a set up like mine to have great handling, you can leave everything std style, just change shocks, springs, bars, bushes and wheels / tyres. most of these people here change anyway, just got to buy the right parts.

pedders make some pretty good gear though its extremely priced in comparison to the average monroe and kings gear. all depends on what u can aford as for wheels , 18s will be a little firmer , still driveable , 17s fine

people who claim vls cant handle for **** usually cant handle the vl in the first place (or any car for that matter). haha ! i see too many people driving around in cars that 'look like they would handle really well' but im not mentioning wat type of cars they are... and the drivers of the cars are pretty pathetic.. take for example some of the wannabe's out at last w/e drift meeting at qld raceway.. i saw alot of ricer boys turn up with thier sik bov's and lowered cars.. when i saw them on the track it became pretty evident that they usually do most of their drifting etc on gran turismo rather than in their own car.. no one said a vl handles good, but u can get them to handle fairly decently.. even tho they are a family sized sedan with not alot of technology and fine tuning in their suspension setup. people buy vls because of the look of them aswell as their cheapness compared to other cars and also the fact that they are reasonably cheap to modify and respond very well to engine mods. my 2c. My mates Vl handles like a dream, he has factory FE2 springs, mods include Pedder's Sports Rider shocks, whiteline sway bars front and rear & michelin Pilot Sports 235/40ZR17 rubber and his wouldn't out handle but would handle as well as an MR2 with stock suspension gear. Don't forget to mention that hes got 100Kw + over 95% of MR2's. So let ur mate think hes got the superior car I know what I would pick.

A lot of people say MR2's handle like crap, but most of the people who say this are brought up driving cars with engines mounted at the front and driven by the front wheels or rear wheels. These people have not experienced or dont quite know how to drive a mid engined car to its true potential. I'm not saying I'm an expert when it comes to driving mid engined cars or anything, but my 1st car was a NA SW20 MR2 (which I still have) I also have a modified Generation 3 3SGTE SW20 MR2 Turbo which comes out with 180kws stock (pumping out way more than that now ) So I guess you can say I know how to drive a MR2 reasonably well. The secret to cornering hard in a MR2 is if the back end tends to break loose you never apply the brake or else you'll spin out. Its basic racing rules you never brake during mid corner. The advantage of mid engine cars is to quickly power out of corners. Dark_VL your mate has the advantage driving a AW11 MR2 if you were racing him around twisties, but at the end of the day if you're a better driver than he is then you might be able to keep up. Anyone can make a car go fast (around a corner or straight line) but most importantly is driving skill. Anyway here's a video of a 2 stock MR2 turbos dragging, it proves that they're no sloutch in stock form.. enjoy! http://members.ozemail.com.au/~madmr...IvsTYPEIII.wmv (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~madmr2/TYPEIIvsTYPEIII.wmv) - Dustin 1992 SW20 MR2 G-Limited NA 1996 SW20 MR2 GTS Turbo Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
