I have never heard of a 20 year old VL,I have a near 17 year old VL but I have never heard of a 1983 model VL Commodore. As for spending $215,000 bucks on a the new XR6 turbo I'd sooner spend it on a better motor, mostly Japanese,American or a european motor simply because Ford still base this new motors bottom end off the same sort of platform that motors such as the 202 Holden motor or the old 250 Xflow and motors which Nissan and Toyota stick in their cruisers or Patrols, their bottom end designs are like at least 50 year old and are better suited for a big 4WD or the slug of a Falcon, for its engine size at least.

the XR6 has a completely redesigned block as do all new falcons, granted it has the same displacement and configuration

well it was obvious they were going 2 have problems from the start, rollcage, digital race dash n all that other **** = hot property & for a street car? :| and + they would of had to de tune the car down to me ADR standards n stuff so it was betta pulling the plug rather then making it and losing lotsa dosh on it... Its like Ferrari's ur paying for the power and so on but a lot of it is the brand. I mean ur paying an extra 10K on a clubsport over an SS when u can get ur SS way over that sort of power that the clubsports are producing for a lot less of the cost. Its marketing.. The GTS isn't incrediably powerful. My dad's SS has 315kw and he has spent about 10K on it. HSV just downtune the cars so they can claim that the expensive higher up cars are something really special.. Its a load of crap i would never buy a HSV. $215 000 is a lot to pay for a relatively powerful but nothing incrediable car. Sure it looks good, but is it worth that much? And don't start about the suspension, etc. Because i bet a lot of the people buying them wouldn't be that keen to thrash them around a race track so ur not really going to be really using the car like how it was meant. I know i personally wouldn't want to risk thrashing a rare car like that along a track. i would personally like to see that AWD SSX released instead of a fancy showoff car that we will only dream off and will become extremally rare in the future.
