There has to be three....they all came out with it! Its not directly behind the headlight...its actually on the guard. Also, seeing that you're not getting power to the injectors, I wouldnt even bother checking fuel filters, etc, because its obviously not the problem Make sure you check the EFI relay! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

it will almost definately be an elec problem if ur getting no fuel thru the injectors then something is tricking the computer and then the computer is not pulsing the injectors. just go over the obvios things again such as afm , cas and timing. you say that u tried a new dizzy assembly - did u make sure no1 cyl was at tdc and cam in its correct position and u had the rotor at the right point. also very easy to have the cam out 180degrees. this will cause a poor attemp at start , will give spark etc but may sound like its jumping and wont fire. go to ur sparky mate again and borrow a noid light off him , put this on the injector and it lights up on each pulse from the computer , that way u will know if its not pulsing its probably a ecu itself problem.

when i change the dizzy assembly, i made sure it was tdc, and at the right spot. i got a noid light, and no pulse from any injector, the relay u's mentioned, i found, up between the battery and coolent tank. plugged, unplugged, new relay, no difference. another alternaitor has just been installed, no difference... im comming to the conclusion its the ECU itself. how much would i b chasing roughly for a second hand one? to test with? or jus better buyin new?

Okay, I've just replaced my gearbox. Car is running like a dog, narrowed it down to not firing on no6. Replaced the lead, no the car doesn't work at all..... put tbe old lead back on, still nothing. ECU is giving me the "ignition circuit" code, otherwise fine. I'm about to replace the ignition module, just wondering if you guys had any ideas.

Yeap, checked those, pulled 'em out and tested them too. fuel seems to be ok, Ivr got just under 70 psi in the rail. Spark is just hellishly weak - dull orange instead of a fat healthy blue.

Thats what I'm going on too - you can REALLY smell the fuel if you put your nose by the exhaust and get someone to crank it over. This problem ain't gonna go away until I get decent spark though, but thats my opinion I've just been told to replace the ECU (although it appears to be fine) but the only other ECU I have is a manual 2ltr one - but I'm told that will still work, just won't drive nicely with the auto gearbox Gah.... ALMOST enough to make me buy another car...... but VL's are too cool to get rid of Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

when you replaced the dizzy did you replace the cap also? sometimes the points in the cap can get carbon build up on them and this hinders the spark.

Replaced it with a complete dizzy - rotor and cap too. About to go downstairs and put the battery back in (its been on charge overnight) and give it another go..........

Okay, just put the battery back in. It fired, ran for 10 seconds, died, and doesn't work now Replaced the ECU, it fired once then just kept cranking over without firing. The new ECU gives me codes 14, 23, 31, 34. This is getting REAL confusing Oh, BTW, its a n/a 3ltr if thats any help. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Right - update. Car is now running (NFI why!) but its only running on 5. no6 isn't sparking, on the 3rd lead, new plugs. its dumping a ****load of fuel out the exhaust though......

UPDATE! It works! No idea why it decided to run.... all my fiddling must've paid off. Fixed the miss - no6 injector wasn't getting a secure connection. I'm still baffled why it stopped in the first place though.....

VL's have been my favorite car sine I was 10-12 - when they came out. And I've had some experience with r32 skylines..... so I figure I've got what I want, why change? although the problem I just had was almost enough to make trade it in Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

some bored dude, what was the problem with your car?

Some Boored dude you said it was running fine (this is just an idea) and then it just decided to stop... how long ago did you last fill up on fuel? and how much fuel do you have left in your tank. It really could be as simple as water in the fuel, if i can recall rightly water floats on top of petrol so if the fuel gets low it could allow water into the engine. Just a though as its clear ppl are starting to run out of ideas! have fun. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
