Guy I know had his diesel 60 series out 4WDing went through a river crossing, and had to stop on the bank at the other side, he stalled it momentarily, and rolled back a bit, the motor started running backwards. He didn't relise and put it in first to take off and it went backward, he thought he had missed a gear, and tryed again, but went backwards again, this time his exhaust went under the water, it sucked water through the exhaust, up through the turbo and into the motor and cause a hydrolic lock, busted 2 rods and stuffed his turbo.
I had a friend who had a motorbike nick named a bulltaco i think. very old bike i think 1978 to be exact. well anyway one day he was showing off on the bike and stalled. Somehow when he started it next it was running backwards, which he didnt know. He put it in first give it a huge amount of throttle and dropped the clutch. Fark the next bit was funny, he went straight thru one of those plastic tables that you get for outside. Destroyed it mind you and then hit the house wall and broke his arm somehow.
Hey guys, first post on calaisturbo here. I've been hanging around for a while, but decided it was time to join in
But to stay on topic: I've a video of my old Yammie IT175 running backwards, and being ridden backwards. We're not 100% sure why it runs backwards so well, but it does
