Firstly,my car is an N/A VL executive. Secondly,it was cheaper for me to build a twin cam non turbo RB30DE than to rebuild an RB30 to turbo specs, buy all of the necessary stuff to convert the non turbo engine to turbo specs and would cost a lot more in insurance because I am still 25. And if my message was read carefully enough it would've said a twin cam turbo RB30 was a waste of money for 200 flywheel kw and was the prime reason I went for an RB30DE twin cam NON turbo 3 litre engine. I said that a twin cam Rb30 turbo engine cannot efficiently produce 200 kw as it is a monster engine capable of putting out over 400 BHP efficiently. I also said for 200 kw an RB30ET is a more viable option than an RB30DET(T) as it would cost less to rebuild that engine. THe RB30DE engine I built I believe is a bargain for tad over $2000,it just needs the external pieces such as the timing belt, new tensioners and headers then it is pretty much complete and ready to drop in,I will fit a new clutch while I am at it,the RB30ET would most probably be in need of an expensive rebuild anyway and I have heard of these engines go for around $2000. Another option would be a Toyota 2JZGTE (I think that's its code) 3 litre twin turbo Supra motor,it would have low kilometers on it and they cost less to buy than what the Nissan turbo engines do.

I just though you were after info on the cost's of building a monster, sorry about that. You are right in saying that it is not really worth it rebuilding an NA rb30 as the twin cam varient rb30 cost almost the sam and is a better option. You are wrong however in assuming that the twincam rb30 is not efficient in producing 200kw. The twin cam will easily produce this, with more torque and power throughout the rev range due to the nature of the twincam head. Oh, and if you are going to do the twin cam head, don't bother doing half the job, and go straight for the turbo setup from the start.

Should be good Cheers, Nick They are always talked about in metric terms because they are a japanese engine and the japanese use the metric system. 1mm oversize is about 40 thou. Cheers
