I think that the v8 touring cars are pretty boring all round. The crashes make it fun, and the driver **** slinging make it as well. At the end of the day its neck to neck racing with equal powered cars, with only drivers skill to differ who the winner. Im entitled to my opinion, and ill think what i like, dont try and convice me otherwise. I wish GTP and targa tas + some other homebrew racing stuff was on TV or at least more often. I was quite amused when there was a gtp style race before the GP in melbourne, and you had rotories vs evos vs wrx's and the homebrew GTS300s, Evos and rotaries came out ontop. Thats true racing in my opinon, diversity in cars to show whos the track leader and who has the best technology. Im a little cheezed off that there are no more 2 strokes in motorbike racing, but they were loosing their racing edge since the 4 strokes had the technology and finance. Thoese were the days when the james hardie series were on in the 80s In a way it locked out a lot of car manufactures from shipping their cars here in high volumes (lack of racing publicity) which enabled holden/ford to expand their market share. Can be good from an econmists point of view, but from a sporting one, its a little selfish and bland. Oh well, would be great if GTP got real big - weekend airing etc. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The problem with GTP, Group A, etc, is that manufacturers get out of control and build special "Race" cars for the road, which end up costing to much to even race unless you are backed by the factory. This is why the V8Supercars series started.
