I very much doubt you'll be seeing a BA XR6t running an 8/9sec qtr in street trim. Your talking around 400kg heavier than the much smaller VL you all love to bits! I can see mid 10s happening with a street trim car, with slicks ofcourse, but another second off that is pushing it. Will need to be a full drag car to manage that. Good on ford for laying down the smack, and boo for holden for making such an ugly car. Oh i'd like to add that ford didnt just slap a dohc head on, and a turbo on to make it quick. You do realise that they spent $500mil on the project. Theres been years of development going on there, and its all variable timing, fly by wire, brand new EECV management etc etc.

Ive seen a Olive Gold BA XR6-T run 14.3, 14.2 and 14.14 inperson at calder park. Looked stock as, on street tyres. the car had no number plates on it as well.

No number plates=no warranty problems. The Ford six engine looks extremely bare on the left hand side of engine bay without the turbo. It is like they designed the engine specifically to place a turbo on it.

Have a look at any of the other models, They have plenty of room for a turbo aswell.

They did engineer the new engine to fit a nice turbo easily without little modification. If Ford's Pursuit ute didn't punish the HSV Maloo enough - this sure will. Yummy! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i've seen many a ba xr6 turbos getting around in the city, and personally, i love them. especially over the new ss. this is the only ford made after 1970 that im a fan of. i love the new colour on them, the blue and purple. and i love the fact its an xr6 turbo all holden have is 1 ****in green colour, but the hsv's **** over anything ford will ever make. but still, xr6 turbo - very impressive. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its hard to belive that holden havent got something up there sleeve. Its about time ford did something becuase they have been using the same engine since year dot just with added extras. but holden have gone through a few engines. The original holden 6ers then the rb30 series then the buick v6 ECTOEC and what not then from the holden v8 5l to a 5.7l chev. Now holden have held the majority of the market for many many years and havent had to produce there best work because ford have always been falling behind and havent been pushing holden forward. Ford now has something new and refined and outpowers everything holden have. Holden have something to work for and i think that this will be the last year thet ford get there "car of the year title" FORD WILL RUE THE DAY THEY TOOK ON THE LION  My few dollars anyway. and yes i am a holden man . Ford's biggest mistake wasn't their cars - it was their marketing. They thought the Australian market for high performance died 20 years ago. Since Holden have imported the GEN III, Ford slowly recognised that the Australian market is wanting high performance cars more then ever. This brings us to the BA. HSV have well established their range. FTE failed in this part of the market, which really hurt Ford as well. How ever, FPV now have much more freedom then FTE ever did. As FTE was fully owned by Ford, FTE was limited to Ford's budget - unlike HSV and FPV. I love the new HSV VY range, the cars look awsome. I reckon the SS looks great too, but they only have the one colour, and the SS looks almost identical to the S. The FPV GT is insane! But I wish they didn't use the name GT, as in my opinion GT is the ultimate. [quote="JVL87"] Quote: but the hsv's **** over anything ford will ever make Ford isn't worried about HSV's range, that's FPV's job now. What people forget is, that HSV is seperate to Holden, just like FPV is seperate to Ford now. Basically, they are seperate companys that are contracted with Holden and Ford to release a performance range using Holden's or Ford's basic design. Ford vs Holden, HSV vs FPV.
