heheh what do ya think of their website?

10-02-03, 18:22 GMT+10#23 pretty good. lots of expensive looking stuff there. someone GIVE me a few grand
so what stuff you got from them. Do they have performance chips too?

10-02-03, 18:28 GMT+10#24 I've had my injectors cleaned and flowed there and used a JR filter and also got my fuel pump there.
The boys at work have everything from filters to sensors, fuel pumps you name it they got it.
Glad you like the site, the company i work for built it.

10-02-03, 18:34 GMT+10#25 Kewl. Shame they dont sell directly to the public or even have a work shop there. I reckon I could go rank. Any idea what a throttle position sensor does.. I need a new one as the computer is coming up with a 2-3 fault. What indications are there that i might need a new oxygen sensor? Would the computer tell me this?

24-03-03, 13:44 GMT+10#26 The best combo is like in my old car. Have a pipe bolted to the airflow meter that goes through the engine bay down to the left front wheel, there fronted with the biggest K&N cone you can find. If your worried about puddles and whatnot splashing up onto the filter, fabricate a shield across the bottom bolted to the front bar. You'll get the coolest possible air this way

26-05-10, 14:39 GMT+10#28 hi guys, and yes before you say anything i do realise this is 7 years old... just wondering in a completely stock vlt no cooler or anything, how much of an improvement in the induction noise would the pod filter make?? cheers

26-05-10, 15:00 GMT+10#29 thats actually a fair question, and more importantly you obviously searched before posting a question... so before anyone has a stab at this guy for digging up an old thread, i think its worth thinking that this guy has done exactly what everyone bitches on about people not doing...
as for a pod+standard intake, i put one on once, with the std crossover pipe etc, i cant say i noticed any difference at all, noise or performance wise... assuming you are running the std crossover you shouldnt really be running much more than 7psi, so i doubt the car will make much noise of any sort at all...
i think alot of the noise these guys are talking about is the compressor surge (or compressor stall) when running an intercooler, eg the sound made when you stop boosting and the air coming in clashes with the air that is pushed back out through the compressor, causing a kind of turbulence thing that makes that psh psh psh noise, or with a dose pipe sounds kind of like "ho ma gawd listen to mah sick dose ladies zzzuuuuu tutututuuuu"

26-05-10, 16:10 GMT+10#30 I remember when I had the stock T3 and gained 2-3 psi just using the pod filter. But after going through 3 AFM I got rid of it. The oil on the pod filter burns out your AFM element. So after I brought a aftermarket computer I placed the K&N back on & reaped the awards

26-05-10, 21:21 GMT+10#32 HTURBO, move AFM to intercooler piping and keep pod filter maybe?
My VL is stock as engine wise, but plan to get a 600x300 cooler and a pod filter in the coming weeks, and was wondering, if I have my pod sitting where my current airbox is with my AFM on the intercooler piping, will I get the 'hektik dose' or will the turbo intake pipe be too long for that?

26-05-10, 21:41 GMT+10#33 Once you move the AFM into the intercooler piping you'll be right. I'm just running a short pipe to the pod filter & still gives me a nice dose. Anything past 15psi you hear the BOV. Plus I don't have a AFM.

27-05-10, 13:19 GMT+10#34 haha thanks for the defence chad.. so basically what you are telling me mate is theres no point in hooking up a pod to my car?? with everything standard atm i still get a little 'dose' type sound when i back off the throttle at like 3000 rpm (its auto), so with a pod you dont really think it would sound louder? i dont suppose there are any other ways on getting louder induction... my mate put one on his mitsubishi mirage and it went from being quiet as **** to loud as hell.. wtf?
HTURBO.. is it common to gain 2 psi with the pod? cause from what ive read on here everyone seems to think the pod actually results in worse performance.... thanks mate

You'll notice a little increase of power. Throttle response & spool will be better. The better a turbo can breath the better it runs. You might only gain 1psi or 2psi, every engine is different. If your worried about burning out the AFM just mount the AFM in the intercooler piping.

the debate with most pod filter setups is that they are not sealed and as a result actually suck in hot air from the engine bay rather than cold air. as for gaining psi (jumping one or two more) i seriously doubt it on a propperly cleaned panel filter in the airbox, if you are worried about airflow you should deffinatly install a "cai" by cutting a hole in the bottom of the airbox and under the bay there and maybe stick a pipe on it, just so it can draw more air.
mine had the standard dunny pipe cold air intake setup and i found no noticible difference with the pod. i would say mate the first thing you want to do if you want a better sound would be score an intercooler setup. like a gktech no holes kit. not only would you get a bit of flutter sound if thats what you want, but it would also be safer. i cant see how a pod in a warm enviroment could possibly allow for more pressure (given that cold air is denser) when compared to a panel filter being fed colder air (even if the difference is only 10-15 degrees) if you really want you could get a k&n panel filter that would flow just as well as the pod or close enough too. just look into the cai to assure you have enough airflow.
for the record i personally run a pod filter in a semi enclosed box (open at the front) and has a cold air intake at the bottom, best of both worlds haha. im fairly sure i remember HoldenOn had a standard airbox utilising the std panel filter feeding a t66... im pretty sure haha.
HTURBO is right about most things, and hes provided me with advice on a few important questions of mine too. so im not trying to start an argument

28-05-10, 11:22 GMT+10#37 hmm sounds like ive hit a bit of a dead end then.. cause my cars standard atm my main intention was to keep it stock as a rock, so that pretty much rules out the intercooler setup. looks like ill just have to live with it the way it is.. :/
