Yes VK turbo ur right, no alarm will stop someone stealing ur car if they really want it, it will sure as hell make people turn and look at whats going on, if someone really wants to steal ur car they will, but ull have more chance of having a car still sitting there if they get frightened off by the car alarm i brought a Black Widow system, cost me $279 installed from strathfield, has remotes, 2 point imobilizer, shock sensor, protects the bonnet boot and doors, and it has a flashy dash light,

Oh yea fuel cuts work it just depends where u slice the wires to go to the switch. If you break the circut to early it can be easily got around. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i know of some people who dont have the flashy light installed in a visable position in the car so that when a thief trys to get into the seemingly unalarmed car they are not prepared for and alarm to go off and they freak and leave it alone. But then you would get all the half assed opurtunist thieves having a go at it before they realised it was alarmed. I also heard from a good source that the mobile paging alarms are useless in covered carparks and that alot of thieves just rip off the antenna on your car so they are useless. Not sure how true this is. I personally would put as much security on it as you can.

Even the best clublock is useless because thieves bend the steering wheel to get the lock off. It's actually quite easy to do.

Try and bend a momo wheel standard wheel can be bent/broken rather easily, i lost my clublock key at eastern creek and had standard wheel on. So i gave the wheel abit of a bend and yep doable but i found the key after searching the ground for like 20mins. But then again i ain't weak. I think a 15 year old junkie would have abit of trouble. U can't stop people from getting into ur car and if u rekcon can, i call ur bluff with my axe But u can stop em from taking it away (unless tilt tray trucked away) with good immobilsers and ****. But then again dodgey arabs are getting smarter by the day. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

midz, i hope you're nowhere near my car I saw snippets from Today Tonight about rebirthing.. Although the segment's main focus was about rebirthing, it's pretty shocking to see how brazen these professional car thieves are in action. The coppers planted a hidden camera in a station wagon apparently driven by a pro car thief gang roaming streets and car parks together with a roving tow truck close by, looking for prey. Hidden cameras also showed a crew trying to break into - u guessed it - a VL Calais.. easy prey. What's most disturbing however is the strong evidence pointing towards the possible infiltration of VicRoads by some of these pros.. If it starts at the top, and they find all the loopholes, then we're all pretty much ****ed This is a wakeup call for us.. and locking your car up like fort knox just aint enough anymore. :x Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

to get around the club lock they can always just take the wheel off and put another on. I've done it once when i lost the key to my club.

Quote: dr00 wrote: Quote: Look. It is very simple. No alrm system will ever stop your car from being broken into. THAT SIMPLE. thats a stupid way to look at it. with no alarm system any 14 year old can walk up to your car stick a screw driver in the lock and get it open and then hotwire your car and drive away all in a max of 1 minute with a minimal amount of know-how. if you have a decent alarm and immobiliser and a lock on your gearstick and a club lock on your steering wheel they will probably set the alarm off first because they wont expect it to have one. then if they can get that off they have to get past the immobiliser, then the gearstick lock, then the steering wheel lock. if you have a dialler on your alarm your phone is already telling you the alarm went off and you are on your way with a big bat. sure the pros will get it but its ****en stupid to think that you might as well throw your arms in the air and give up. not everyone has a garage and a lot of people use their car everyday to go to the shops and things (myself included) and are looking for ways to make their car harder to steal, not unstealable. I guess you must work for an alarm specialist. It takes a pro thief a matter of seconds to do all this. Even a 14year old kid as you put it, can and will do what you said, even with an alarm. They will pop the locks and clean the car out before you can even make it to your car. I guess you live in fairy land, because most people in here will have car alarms/immobilisers/club-locks and I can bet that at least 50% of them have had there car broken into and even a few who have still had it stolen. And if you don't beleive me, just go on believing in the alarm system, get this false sense of security, and then have your pride and joy broken into and vandalised or stolen. Like I said, security can only be achieved if you park it in a sensible and secure spot. no i dont work for an alarm specialist, i work for a yacht club, and no we dont sell car alarms. im not an idiot. my car has been broken into three times and it has an expensive laserline alarm. they all happened in a "sensible and secure spot", my carport outside my front door. im not saying an alarm turns your car into fort knox, nor am i disagreeing that there are plenty of people out there who can get past alarms. the only way to stop the "pros" is a locked garage, a pitbull and luck. i have no false sense of security, i have no sense of security at all with my car. i am constantly on edge, i even lock my doors a lot of the time when im driving. but i want to do everything i can to make it as hard for people to steal as possible. what im saying is the alarm is not there to stop the pro's its there to stop the kids who want my cd's. for the pro's i park my car in safe places and pray...[/quote]

Quote: Quote: i have one. only cost $135 (not including a mobiel but all you need is a ****ty 5110 or something) and it works with any alarm. havent fitted it yet though. Where's you get one for $135? any more details? i got it off ebay its a pretty simple system. it hooks up to your alarm and a nokia mobile phone. you can store 3 numbers in the first three positions of thi sim card of the phone. if the alarm is triggered for 1 second or more it calls the number in position 1 then 2 then 3. if you answer it theres an automated sorta voice that says your alarm has been triggered or something. Fair enough droo. From your coment it sounded like you needed to be brought back to reality. But I guess you are already there. One thing though, even alarms aren't keeping the kiddies from breaking into cars these days though. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The most interesting immobiliser I've seen was on a rx wagon at work. To start the car you need to first touch a particular screw that hold the dashboard then turn the key. Alternatively you could turn the key then touch the screw and have like a pushbutton start

The best immobiliser I saw was my mates v8 monaro. You could say it was a dual stage one too. first he removed the rotor button, then he disconected the wire to his starter motor. I guess he was paranoid Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
