Car Audio is a Money pit just like Engines But its fun as hell....... Just like engines what sub is it cheif?? and yes the car audio bug is a wealth hazard Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I think you really need to consider the facts, its quite amazing to sit in a car wired with one of these things, its like a portable earthquake. Next time you see a little mirage pumpen along, think of how orgasmic its sounding and feeling in that drivers seat, and the headphones?, live a little. As for that last bit, i couldnt hear it over the noise of my subs.

I'am with old gold, a nice sounding stereo in your car is good, but it's always a compromise as the car is a uncontrolled enviroment. $$$ and it still sound **** compared to a half decent home setup. I work in recording studios and the only music mixed/mastered for big subs is doof doof crap. Anything else just gets way too muddy sounding. Speaking of muddy sounds, the best subs are 10"s or 15"s as anything bigger, such as 18"s respond very slowly (transient response) smaller speaker=tighter punchy sound. Even though you might need two 10''s to get as much bottom end as a 18'' they will sound heaps better. Look for efficency (not watts) in subs ie. sens. 1watt @1metre should be over 95db. It's a shame those little mirage pumpen along are playing ricky martin I'am into good car audio but i think that your much better off spending that extra money on your motor for performance, rather than big subs so people look at you. Anyone play cool music with a loud car stereo? metal, funk, rock :?: :?: Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

People who like real music usually are content with a stereo that they can listen to the music with. People who like dance etc (Yes folks, I'm dissing dance music!) want a stereo that everyone else can listen to so they know how cool they are A stereo for my car is waaaaaaay down on the list, the only reason I'm bothered at all is that I have a hole in my dash and parcel shelf cut for a stezza and they look ****. i'm with old gold, people who like good music (not this doof doof ****e) really have no need for 5000 watts of brain cell killing power coming from their boot. being a metal/ hard rock fan myself, i'm quite content with some good quality smaller pioneer speakers from a nice jvc headunit, they can make some serious sound when needed, but for everyday listening provide a much better quality sound than massive systems.

sigmund lets not confuse people here (hear?) tho because yes smaller subs do "normally" sound punchier etc but then u can get a similar sound our of bigger subs using less power because they are generally more efficent ie pushing the Qtc up closer to the 1 mark where as I (a bit of an SQ fan) have a Qtc for my focal 27k sitting at about 0.6 (0.7 is regarded by most SQ loud speaker manufacturers as "perfect") so that my Vas is slightly lower so that it extends to lower freqs at +/-3dB (my sub goes to below 16Hz @ +/-3db the lowest a human child can hear is about 18Hz and the lowest most adults can hear is more like about 22-25Hz. my huge 2 cents worth. Plus P platters can drive with Big HP stereos not with Big HP engines BTW - i listen to every thing from Beethoven - Linkin Park - the Ataris - Bob Marley - Equate - Danny Elfman, So my Sub doesnt like equate type music (douff douff) as much and it likes the Low notes from Danny Elfman type music (orcastra music) and note that dance music normally doesnt go below 45 Hz where as classical music will go as low as 7Hz. My system cost me in excess of 5K yet i doubt i would push mush more than about 115dB cause its all designed around sound quality. gessus i wrote a friggen lecture Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
