yeah my berlina is S.1 and it has the rear int lights, carpet lining in the boot, vanity mirror and bonnet lining and the "jesus" handles, i think the rear discs were to do with the motor not the model, V8 and turbo both had rear disc brakes, (corvette finned style) and the standard six had read drums.

There are many variations of the interior. Most Exec and SLs are the same, variations were in Calais and Berlinas. All the Berlinas (I have a Berlina) have most Calais options like electric mirrors, electric antenna, front handles, middle rest for backseat passengers, rear interior lights, carpet in the boot, bonnet heat resistant lining, full centre console with lid. Light in the boot as well. Note: A mate of mine has a Berlina with Cruise control and power windows. I think the only differences between Berlina and Calais were the little bits and pieces like Power windows, cruise control, and alarm. Anyway calais is the best the interior is mad. I have seen 3 red calais interiors and all are different. The first one looked really crap and I know who owns it  but I cant mention anynames, but now hes upgrading to SII. There was a series I one and it was identical to the SII except for the carpet on the glovebox and the lid on the centre console. OOO forgot and the Buttons on the seats and the filled heat rests for SII which looked much better than SI because it was velour not vinyl crap  , other than that the rest was indentical  Hope this clear things up. Anyone wants to upgrade their Berlinas to Calais ? I have four Calais doors with electric windows , I have all the switches even the loom too fellas....... hmm I might put it in mine if I have the time...if I get a good price for them I wont bother!

ive seen a vlt with turbo pinstriping, the pinstripes went around the car and at the front doors, the pinstripe broke and turbo was written. the word turbo was written in the same style as the vlt badge.

Then I'd say thats been done by an owner in its life .. Generaly what i'm planning on doing to my SL as I go along .. but some of that stuff was NOT factory optionalable on a SL .. tho being 8/88 its RIGHT at the end of the run .. maybe holden were getting rid of stuff?

Actually, another question regarding calais features .. the "jesus" handles (do they actually have a real name? .. Did the calais have them only in the back? or were there some in the front also? The guy i bought my calais interior stuff from only had 2 .. just got round to putting em in today .. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Something I found interesting (a littlr o/t but I'm going to story tell).. both my Cals were S2 with grey interior and blue and silver duco.. though the rear seats had different head rest brackets (one of my calais was closer set to than the other - the disatnce between the headrests was smaller) and the front seats were slightly different... and they were built only months apart in late 87..

The VLs were made as late as 10/88. Maybe they offered good option deals around then.

My 87 Series II SL has the heat lining under the bonnet, Air conditioning, and the Tacho dash. And are all factory fitted. As the tacho dash is factory fitted is it possible that I may have the Berlina / Calais wiring harness?

Assumeable you would then to suit .. if yoru oil gauge works, you have the calais upper harness at least .. Curious tho, what makes you assume it was factory fitted? or have you owned the car from new?
