Mark, the fine was for speeding yes. I was doing a rather large speed over the limit and got a photo.
Please note everyone, www.calaisturbo.com.au DOES NOT condone speeding, this was a mistake i made and have learnt from it. I will not be contesting the fine as i know i was in the wrong and acted iresponsibly. As i have said, i did the crime, i'll do the time
The photo arrived yesterday, it was taken on Boxing day at 2:41pm
The offence was $180.00 and 4 Demerit points, unfortunatly i was still on a provisional license at the time of the offence so i will be doing a 3 month suspension.
DO NOT SPEED its stupid and dangerous.
But the REAL question remains.... IS IT A GOOD PHOTO ????
i got flashed once - was at night from the front - thought, at least i'll get a photo of the car... got the photo and all it was, was a bright numberplate and two dim headlights !!!!! not impressed
How much were u over the speed limit for that fine ??? i thought it went from 3points / $135 for 15-30 over to 6 points / $lots for 30 - 40 over.. might have been changed recently though...

Actually yeah while we're back on topic... has anyone had any thoughts for where this cruise is goin? last i heard the original idea was too tough on the cars and dead boring.
hmm, i don't know where, maybe we should put it to the vote ???
north / south / east / west, where do we want to go
and then take it from their, also nice clean roads would be good so i don't scrap =]

The suggestion i made was down through the back of Logan and out through Beenleigh and so on out to Mt Tamborine climbing up one side then back down the other side and through from there it comes out near Nerang so we could run up the gold coast highway to BWCP for that night..... its a good drive, i've done it a few times in the old mans saab for saab owners cruises. (bunch of yuppy wankers)
Anyway thats just my suggestion surely there is something better we can do.
hmm. well im not real familiar with the brissy scene so i dunno. i would definately be makin it a saturday arvo cruise going into saturday night at the BWCP. sunday arvo cruises are gay( for those who go back to work monday ne ways) peice out lads. jeffo

I agree there Jeffo... i start most mondays at like 6am so i'm never keen to be out till all hours of the morning on Sunday... saturday arvo is the better time. And i think we've proven that day cruises are heaps better than night ones in terms of video footage and photos

i think your on the right track there robo!
Springbrook rd or that murwillumbah rd looks like it'd be an alright drive, i think they join somwhere so you's could go down one and up the other back to bwcp. Might be too far south for some.
Another idea would be going Waterford rd, then onto beudesert, turning onto 'mundoolun conection', but it's still beudesert rd i believe. Follow it through the 'Land warefare Centre' (Never been on this route myself but i have heard it's a good drive), then back towards nerang and through to BWCP.
Ideas:
*probably most important >>>>>MAPS, so everyone has one this time.
* CB's are good to. More for talking, not so much for if you get lost as there range isn't really that good unless your gonna pay 1000 bucks for a hardcore one.
*Phone numbers of the organizers and the people who will be leading the pack and taling the pack might be a good idea.
*It may be worth starting up past aspley and working our way down, so all the northerners can meet somwhere, plus it's a longer drive for those of you who enjoy driving your cars .
* need a few more "rest/meeting" spots so people can catch up or if they're late for one meeting spot they could just go onto the next
* no BBQ. so nobody bring it up lol :P
* oh yeah and at least 2-3 fuel stops, maybe more.
unfortunatly my car will not be attending this cruise, i would like to come, it depends on work and if i can arrange somthing with somone.

Dayle I like ur ideas far south is good.. maybe we could head down into NSW and then back up later on to go to bwcp.. some of those mountain road bits can go into NSW i think.. wooohooo...
